Cannot attach drain without access from below

The instructions say that you can install this base without access from below. This is simply not the case and they know it. You have to lay your mortar bed, put glue on the pipes, and then lay the base down and work it down into the mortar after you get it in place. As most people know, pipe glue dries quickly. There just isnt enough time to get the base into the mortar and make the blind connection between the base and the drain pipe before the glue sets. I ended up wasting a ton of time and money on this shower base that i had to rip out because of a poor drain connection that couldn’t be accessed from above.

The installation went smoothly with no issues. Also I had bought the corner redi tile foot rest that fit really well. However my BIGGEST complaint, even though it comes with the chrome shower drain which is so cheap looking. This drain isn’t universal to exchange out for a more decorative one. They don’t even offer the brass finish that the rest of the bathroom has. So disappointing!!

Drain thread size is odd so you can’t just place a tileable shower drain. Base is very light which is good but it seems the base did not cost much to manufacture so why is it so expensive? I don’t feel like I got my moneys worth.

Absolutely The Best Product

Hello! I'm a Wedi System Certified Installer. I have installed several of the Wedi systems over the last few years. You MUST use the entire system, correctly, or it will void your warranty. I finally get to install the Fundo Primo system for myself!!! The Wedi system is by far the BEST product on the market! It's 100% waterproof before you set any tile. I highly recommend this product!

It’s seems good on installation but took nearly 4 months to get delivered. We will see if the tiles stick to it, time will tell. Floor isn’t sloped as much as I would like either.

Probably would not use again. Getting the mortar to fill up inside the pockets on the underside of the pan was very difficult. The resin mix needed to adhere the tile is also very tricky to work with and you need to do it at the same time as you put the other tile up with standard mortar so quite messy with all the different buckets of adhesive and different trowels.
