I much prefer a smooth M&P over the rough, porous one I used to have. It can be a bit slippery to work with, but that it just the nature of the beast.

We use this in our bar rather than our kitchen, as it's pretty small! However, it looks great and feels like a quality product, being proper marble.

This mortar and pestle is just the perfect size for grinding dry herbs. I did have the use it empty a few times to smooth out the inner surface as it is raw marble. Doing this evened out the ridges but generated a lot of marble dust. Once done and washed, it works great and doesn't seem to have any issues during use.

I love this size mortar for crushing different types of spices. Also, for smashing pills into power. Made very well, love the marbling, I you need a bigger size they have them in several sizes.

This is a good lightweight pestle and mortar set. Great for grinding small amounts. I would not use it for anything more than a half teaspoon of finished project at a time.

this is a small mortar and pestle set - but works great and marble is smooth making the spices grinds into very fine powder for the dish so you don't see the spices in the food but can taste the spices. Price is not bad at all and shipping is affordable. Definitely should buy.
