Not durable for countertops

Hard marble base can scratch countertops, wire gets slack and struggles with heavy cheses. Not as durable or functional as previous wood cutter. Looks nice but not a good value. Will likely need replacing soon.

Smaller than I thought, pestle conforms to mortar. Can be use for small batches of fine powdered spices.

broke, pestle shape didn't match exactly w mortar

the pestle wasn't reaching the bottom to grind things well enough into powder and as I tried to season it, it broke on me too easily. It was probably cracked during the shipment and then broke on me to several pieces while I was using it to grind some fennel seeds. I'll have to reorder again after getting my refund.

THE PERFECT MANUAL SPICE GRINDER

i wanted a smooth surfaced mortar and pestle to grind hard seeds and spices. This is a great size for a hand full of spices or less and the BIG pestle area keeps the seeds in the mortar while grinding. It is a pleasant addition to my kitchen: and meal prep.

My old marble mortar and pestle got lost during a move, and when I saw this, I loved it. I love that it has a lid for its pestle, which keeps it dust-free and gives you a more thorough grind. I used it this week are cardamon and it worked perfectly! I am very pleased.

Salt saved!

The plastic parts of my Himalayan Pink salt grinder broke. I purchased this mortar and pestle so I wouldn't have to waste an entire container of pink salt. It grinds very well. I'm glad that I made the purchase.

Small but exactly what I need

I bought two of these. They are smaller than expected, in solid marble...very well made and so darn cute. I'm going to use one for garlic, onion...and such. The 2nd one is for anything else that I don't want to smell like garlic...

A great product

This is a heavy mortar and pestle set. The 2 pieces fit together to create a larger grinding area than the traditional design. It works great for pulverizing hard spices, seeds, and reducing large crystalline sugar substitutes ( like erythritol ) to powder.

THE GREATEST GARLIC PRESS EVER

I just adore this mortar and pestle, it allows me to crush garlic to perfection for my pasta sauces. I can virtually cream the garlic to disguise it from my children, adding the great flavor and health benefits, without them seeing the bits and knowing plenty of garlic went in there. It works perfectly for crushing seasonings seeds as well, like the plentiful Fennel seeds I also include in my glorious pasta sauce.
