Spa Level Door Quality

This is a beautiful quality door with HD hinges and nice vinyl seal strips that clamp to the door. the only thing I had an issue with was the L shaped door stop which is supposed to attach to the wall and also was not described on any website I looked at. That said, I did not want to attache anything to the tile wall and instead, I bought an T shaped door seal that attaches to the door. Minor Problem Solved!

Great looking door, Wood studs needed

The door looks amazing and installation is very straight forward. I did it myself and I am not Pro. Make sure you have reinforcement studs inside the wall where the hinges will be located before you finish the wall as it is a very heavy door. In my case I have to open the wall from the other side to install the reinforcement. But, if you don't have this option you will have to use the wall anchors they provide, I just personally feel they are not strong enough to hold the heavy door. Once you pass the issue of the support, the rest is easy and you will love the final result.

Identifying which side of the glass that has the Clearmax coating on it was not very clear. I also had a major problem with the swing adjustment screws that were so tight that I couldn't loosen and eventually stripped the hex heads out making them useless. This was after the door was already installed. After calling DreamLine, I found out this was a common problem and they made it sound like no big deal to replace. Well, it is a big deal uninstalling and then reinstalling this heavy shower door in my new tiled shower. Not to mention I lose another week before completing my project because DreamLine will not expedite shipping of the new hinges.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect Fit for our Shower

Lowes installed it perfectly. Been using it for about a Month now. The glass is really heavy and they were able to put 4 of the 8 screws on the door into Studs. It needs the support due to the weight of the glass. Very sturdy and just looks fabulous in our bathroom. Never any water on the floor when were done. Has these heavy duty clear rubber seals on the end of the hinge and below the shower door that keeps water inside the shower. Very happy with this purchase. Quality and design of this shower door has exceeded our expectations. Had a local glass company come in and quote us $1400 for something similar. Glad we went with Lowes and the Dreamline Product.

[Rewarded Review] Quality product. Looks Great!!

I bought this glass door from Lowes. Great price compared to quotes from contractors. The door came in earlier than expected. This was an easy install for me, but door requires two people to safely install. One person to hold in place while the other helps mark required holes to be drilled, etc. Also, the door opening needs to be the exact size and be plum and square. Otherwise, expect problems. As others have noted, this door is heavy. I used professional hand-hold suction cups to safely move the glass around. Dreamline has great customer service. They answered several questions for me about the install, and also sent a replacement trim part that was damaged in shipping. Can't say enough about that kind of service! Overall very satisfied with the quality of the product and their customer service!

Good quality glass door, with packaging that kept everything in place. Spare parts included. Overall cost (materials and labor) ended up being about 85% of having a specialty glass company measure/make/install.

I am very pleased with this door. The instructions indicate the opening should be very exact, plumb and square. This is important. I was very conscious of this was very careful to make the finished opening as close to 30 inches as possible. The unhinged side of the opening was 1/8 inch out of plumb. I was able to adjust the door that much to compensate. That is about all the adjustment you have. The only issue I ran into was how the hinges work. The door is designed to be a right hand swing. The door will open outward fully but only swing about 10 degrees in the other direction. This was not mentioned in the instructions. The instructions also indicated the screws should be on the inside of the door. This does not work for a right hand swing. I had to take the door down, and reverse the hinges. It's fine now, but this should have been mentioned in the specifications. Outside of that, the door is awesome. Just be very particular when preparing the opening that the finished size is as perfectly close as possible.

Door arrived at store in perfect condition and fit perfectly in newly made door space. 2 tiles cracked when installing the hinges, so had to take off door and replace the tiles, then rehang. Instructions could be better to install some of the pieces. Think door thickness is 3/8 " which is a really heavy and makes for a thick door. Wish it were more like 1/8" Second attempt to secure door also cracked the tile on the upper hinge even though we were careful not to over screw. Had to leave it this way as not about ready to undo everything again and re-tile for a third time. For the price, the door is great. Height is standard, but be sure to measure your width and include tiles or finish material.

Excellent deal, great quality!

After exploring options for a frameless door this was by far the cheapest. So I took a chance hoping the quality was decent and the lack of adjustment was tolerable. I was pleased to find the hinges heavy and solidly constructed, the lack of adjustment was not noticeable in my opening despite measuring almost 1/4" out of square. Installation was easy enough for a competent DIYer. To avoid misplaced holes in my shower wall I assembled the hinges, measured spacing, marked the holes and the test for the assembly before drilling, an accurate template would have been nice but this method worked. I shimmed the door into position to get the hole locations verified, this took two people. I highly recommend two people for final install though I was able to shim and balance it into place alone, it was a bit precarious.

Beautiful unit!

I bought the 24" unit to replace an older aluminum-framed shower door. The new unit has totally transformed the appearance of my shower. Directions were excellent and installation was very simple. I made two contacts with customer service before and after installation, and received immediate, courteous responses. The one problem I ran into (not the fault of the product) was that my shower entrance had a slightly rippled ceramic tile. When I installed the plastic trim that seals against the shower door when closed, it did not adhere for more than a few days, and then would begin to separate from the wall. This was obviously caused due to not having a completely smooth surface for the trim to adhere to. I tried a strong clear adhesive, to no avail, and eventually solved the problem by using a combination of the adhesive with several stainless flat-headed screws spaced along the trim piece. Still looks good and and has solved the problem.
