For the money this shower door is an excellent choice. It took me about 3 hours to install and it takes two people. I had some difficulties drilling through the ceramic tile so I drilled new holes in the wall profile piece so I could go through grout lines. I wish the hinge screws were a torques head instead of a Phillips head. This would make the assembly much easier. I stripped out two of the hinge screws but luckily the kit came with extras. I used the hinge shims as a template when drilling the holes. Finally, I wish the inside two holes of the hinges were outside the profile of the hinge so the glass wouldn't need to be removed. All in all this is a super nice door.

Liked enough to buy another one

This is the 2nd Dream Line Shower door we have purchased. The first was a double sliding door for a shower enclosure where a bath tub once took up space. This one is similar in design to the first which made the install easier since I was familiar with the instructions and installation. The first was on porcelain tile and yes by the picture it is on cultured marble. It will install on both!

I really wanted brushed nickel finish but opted for chrome to match with the shower assembly. I was completely surprised that it looks great and high-end, and works perfect. It completes and beautifies my new basement shower. If you want to save the installation cost by doing it yourself, I would recommend you do the followings:

The door looks very good, and the 3/8 inch glass is very sturdy. The only reason I won't give it five stars is because the assembly instructions leave a little to be desired. Specifically, parts came that were not mentioned in the instructions, but I think should have been. As such, after the assembly was finished, the parts were left over and I guessed at where they could have been used - and probably should have been used. But I would have to take some of the assembly apart to use them (a big pain). The unit employs a stationary door that requires silicone to hold the glass and the "glass profile" together before it is used in a subsequent assembly step. This operation should have come at the very beginning before anything else to give the silicone some time to set. The 1/4 inch recommended drill hole size for the hinge anchors actually needed to be 5/16". The instructions also recommend that you remove the door from the hinges before you install the inside hinge screws to the wall so that you don't scratch them in the process. This should have been recommended for the outside screws as well. And last, but not least, the stationary door required 1/8 inch holes drilled "only through the first" layer of the glass/glass profile assembly (if you drilled farther than that you could drill into the tempered glass - not good). So far, so good. But then the screws provided penetrated way farther than the depth of the holes drilled as recommended. As a result, the screws would not seat and do the job they were supposed to do (hold the glass profile to the wall profile), plus the screws tended to push the glass profile/glass assembly around and off plumb. All in all, the assembly was a challenge, but the door looks great.
