No handle on inside of door

I ordered two of these doors and would not order again. Safety is an issue when getting out of the shower as there is only a small knob to hold onto….it needs to have a double sided handle. Trying to work this out with Dreamline right now. They are telling me it would be a special order and I need to get go through a retailer to special order it.

Glass shower door a good choice

This door arrived in a timely manner in September of 2018 having been wrapped in plastic, packed in cardboard and then crated in wood. It arrived without scratches, cracks or damage to its hardware. We had it installed by a professional tile setter and it has been exactly what we wanted in a glass door and more. I had never considered whether it should swing in or out but it does both, which is really convenient. I also love that no scum builds up along the bottom of the door as there's no need for a drip guard. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a shower door. It was less expensive than our local glass shops.

Disappointed

I'm disappointed in this door for two reasons--one is my fault, the other is a design problem. We ordered this to replace a frameless shower door that broke. The old door had the extra inches of panel on the hinge side. This door has it on the handle side and that leaves less room for me to open the door in a small space. I should have thought to consider that.

Great door that adds elegance to our new remodeled bathroom. DreamLine customer service was excellent in insuring correct door for my application and also excellent when replacement parts that were needed due to my self mistakes. Stainless steel screws provided are a softer grade of stainless so they will never rust and the philips head has a tendency to strip easily if your not careful. Went with this door even though opening and walls were not perfect but close enough. Door opening is towards the end of a rectangular shower opposite of shower head so water spray on the door is non existence. Did not want to loose width of opening with rails on both sides on a door that would be recommend for a not plum wall or consistence opening width. Would highly recommend door.

4 Stars

The door looks pretty awesome once installed, solid quality! It has two glass shelves which are also used to support the sidewall, they're both functional and aesthetically appealing--expect to have to clean them pretty often as they get water spots on the underside, not too much work though. It's thick, solid and easy to put together. I was able to install it myself when a handyman left for the day after removing the previous shower door. I didn't want to wait a day so I got a friend to help me put it all together, it took a couple hours. The prices have come down a decent amount since I purchased! I'd buy it again. I dinged a star because some of the parts could have been of higher quality (like the little caps for the screws) and a couple of the screws weren't sufficient so I had to waste trip to the hardware store. Also, I had to trim the seals to fit as some did not, and it wasn't clear what one of them was actually for or how to use it.

This was difficult to install. You have to put it together and place it where you want it, then mark where the holes should be. Then drill the holes, install the hinges, and hope they line up correctly. Mine did, but it would have been easier if there was a template that I could use instead of holding up the door, and getting me and my helper to mark holes through the hinge. The hinge is less than perfect. It says that the hinges are factory set at 85 degrees. Pulling them out of the box and testing them, they would not move. I tried a few things, and was able to move the hinge to where it would open, but then it would also move to where it would swing to the inside. I got online to figure out how the adjustments were set, started a chat, they didn't understand, so they called me when they had a chance. Which happened within the hour. I was told that I had to hang the door to get it to work properly. So I tightened all the set screws to where they were at when I pulled them out of the box. Installed the door, and it was the same, the door would not initially move until I loosened the exposed set screws. Then the door swings in and out. I called back, they told me to loosen it until it opens, and then tighten the set screws. That made the door not close. They kept telling me that I had to install the door before I loosened anything. That does not make any sense, there isn't a pressure switch on the hinge, it should work the same as any other hinge. It opens and closes with or without being attached to a door. They sent me new hinges. I really didn't want to take the door off, the screws going into the wall get loosened when you do that. The new hinges work the same way. They did tell me that I shouldn't worry about it, the L-shaped strip would stop the door. My door frame is a little too wide, it misses the strip by about 1/8 of an inch, so it still swings in. Just scared that someone will try and walk into the shower swinging the door in, instead of out. It doesn't seem to hit the seat I have in the shower, but I don't want to try and force it to see how far it really swings to the inside.
