Dimmable Transformer - the finishing touch

We installed the undercounter lighting using the Armacost undercounter recessed mount and the dimmable transformer was the finishing touch to the install. A little bulky so you have to plan out you installation but works great.

Does exactly what I needed. Easy to wire the lights to it

Started out good, but soon began to flicker

I had installed a previous Armacost LED tape light system for uplighting in our dining room using 2 of the 45w transformers, and it worked perfectly. I then installed another Armacost LED tape light system in the kitchen under cabinets. I followed the specs to size the transformer and used one 45w transformer for 16 ft. of tape lights (which uses 28 watts). In each case the transformers were hardwired to Leviton slider dimmer switches. The kitchen worked fine for about 2 months, then has begun to constantly flicker whether dimmed or at full power. Will be looking for a better brand of LED transformer driver to replace the Armacost.

Replaced identical unit that failed after about 5-6 years.

seemed ok, to bridge a voltage drop gap from basic kit. blew it up by mistake

I purchased the basic 16" led tape kit that came with a 30w transformer.... After dividing the 16" tape into a few segments, the 30w transformer could not drive all of the LEDs (Voltage drop I assume)... Now I really wish the kit cam with something bigger than 30w as I only extended the chain ~ 4' total, but regardless, I needed an additional transformer. This basic 20w seemed ideal. (Unfortunately, working over my head on top of a cabinet, I wired it backwards and blew it up (Ooooffff). Had to next day a similar unit from Amazon

Great with a minor issue

Got this to replace a smaller one that quit after several years. Works great. The only complaint is that the connections are very small. I had three lighting strips to connect. Difficult with such small terminals

Armacost 20W Dimming LED Driver

Dimmer/LED driver required with low wattage puck lighting. Easy to install and connect to lights. Minor hiccup with initial install as driver/lighting combo made a audible "ping" sound when lights turned on/off. Contacted Armacost customer support who were outstanding in providing a quick solution with increased wattage driver that fixed issue.

I’m not comfortable with the securing screws not beefy enough...

I’m not comfortable with the securing screws not beefy enough (can’t torque down as I feel I should) when hardwiring this LED driver in lieu of appliance wire lead that it comes with. The plastic hold down cover does not fully engage into its snapped in place position over the insulated 14ga wires as it ought to.

Wiring is well-marked for installation. So far no oscillations or detectable noise in the circuits. A plug that has variable orientation (straight-in, 90-degree) would make for a more flush in-cabinet installation.

I purchased two of these Armacost lights for a china cabinet. Unfortunately, one was brighter than the other. When advised, Armacost immediately sent a replacement light in the mail. Switching them out was easy. I like the quality of light and that they dim. I'd have given them a "5" rating except for the initial bad light.

I'm a electrical contractor of over 25 years experience. This product is easy to work with, affordable, and produces excellent light. I used it in my home in place of undercabinet lights. Looks great

I used it with an electronic dimming switch that dims from 3 locations in the house. No flicker, py attention to your length of lighting run. Also the lighting strips come in 60 per meter and 30 per meter… it seems like 60 per meter is a big much, I would use it with 30 leds per meter in the future and you get twice the length of lighting run. It works great. How long they last? Don’t know. Only time will tell. I like that it was readily available and the installation was easy.

Works as advertised!

Works like a charm. Had an electrician install it when the new power supply was slightly different than the old one. Easy work around for someone who knew what he was doing. Back in business!!!

TOTAL GARBAGE

TOTAL GARBAGE. Connections failed within 6 months of install. The transformer gets very hot too. Not something you would want mounted to a wooden stud, behind your wall. TOTAL GARBAGE.
