Excellent Product, made well.

This was the 2nd bathtub spout w/diverter that I bought from Home Depot - had to return the first one because it was a slip-fit connection and we needed a threaded connection for our tub. Liked the design of the first spout more (Kohler Forte model), more modern look and had nice bevel edge on the wall -side, plus it was $5 cheaper! Was sad to return it for this plainer & pricier model. Glad that Home depot still has free returns, saves me a trip to the store to return it. Wish these were available in-store.

We bought this spout expressly for the diverter type. Looks fine and works as expected, but it wasn't easy to install because of the diverter mismatch. Had to buy plumbing parts to make this work properly.

Diverter is ineffective

This product does not divert the water to the shower 100%. At most, it only diverts about 75% and has done so since it was installed. After replacing the pressure valve yesterday, I was about to purchase a new one thinking I just had a lemon, but based on all of the other reviews, they all do the same thing. Very disappointing that my only options are now to replace the entire shower set with a different brand that works correctly, or to have a mis-matched set.

Diverter Bath Spout

Looks great but functionality is less than desired…the pull lever is very hard to engage. Had the same spout previously and had the same issue.

Poorly designed and executed spout

Unfortunately, this is a poorly designed and executed spout, clunky and malfunctioning even after replacing it for a new one after Kohler concluded the one we got was malfunctioning and spending a little fortune in plumbers, of which Kohler covered only a minimal portion. Stay away from this product.

Love it, but it is slowly failing

I bought this as part of a bath remodel that was completed almost 10 years ago. (time flies!). It looks GREAT! And I have loved it. But recently, the diverter has been failing. It doesn't shut on its own, so you must manually push it down after you shower. And it is now behaving like what the bad reviews report, in that it is no longer fully shutting off the flow. It worked for about 8 years, so that is good, but if it has a lifetime warranty, it should work until that "lifetime" is up. But I suppose, if you have to replace it every 8 to 10 years that isn't terrible, but if you get new ones that are already doing what the one you are replacing does, then Kohler needs to address the quality of the diverter in this model.

Water leaks when you use the diverter for shower. It only worked without leaking for about a week. This was a replacement for the same product which was already installed when I moved in. I wonder if it is just this product period.

Looks great, but non functional

I had a plumber install this product (threaded connection) as part of the Alteo tub/shower trim kit. The spout leaked while the diverter is engaged. I swapped the spout to slip fit connection and the result was the same. Significant water leaks out of the spout resulting in poor showerhead pressure and wasted water. I received a warranty replacement from Kohler today and the tub spout does the exact same thing. You can adjust the diverter seal by pushing up on the diverter from underneath slowly to find a spot it leaks the least. It also makes noises while the diverter is engaged. Lastly when the water valve is turned off the diverter does not fall back to open position automatically. When you push it back down it feels like it's stuck in place. Very disappointed in this product.

Diverter doesn't work

This is the second alteo bath spout we've had. The first was replaced after moving into a new house because it diverted only about 80% of the water when switching to the shower head. Replaced with brand new spout and it off the box only diverts about 75 to 80%of the water. Spend your money on a more consistent product.

Do Not Buy -- Faulty Diverter

Purchased this Tub Spout as part of the collection for our bathroom remodel. The diverter did not full divert the water to the shower when used. I had my plumber come back and make sure everything was installed properly, but it still continued to not work. Wasn't just dripping either. Significant water almost like you were running the shower and tub at the same time. Build was great and sent me a new one, but the same thing is happening. This is definitely a bad product.

Poor quality diverter!

We bought this because the diverter on our original one of these broke off. With this new one we just got, the diverter snapped off again in just a matter of weeks. Not surprising since it feels flimsy. But I'm still very unhappy about this.
