Out of 3 I installed 2 years ago, I already have to replace second one

These don't seem to handle dimming well. I usually set dimmer to 50% and sometimes to 25%. The worked fine for about 1.5 years but then one started to flicker (about 0.5sec frequency). Replaced that one and thought this was just a defective sample.Well, now I have same issue on another one. Will be replacing it too but next time I think I will look for a different brand.4" models seem to be fine but I don't dim those as much as 3" so I think this is the reason.

I have installed the 4" and the 6". up to a year ago the 3" were more expensive, now they're cheaper. Probably because if you need to get them down it is impossible to get your fingers around the spring clips in a 3" hole. They're strong little suckers! 4" and 6" are awesome. I've installed them in hallways, stairways, kitchens. I find 2 -6" wafers spaced 4-5' are quite a bit more light than 2 -75 watt bulbs in one fixture in the center of the room.

Looks great

The LED ceiling light is a great addition to modernize any home. I really like how customizable it was in terms of choosing color temperature. There were three options: soft white, warm white, and neutral white. my other favorite feature was the dimmable option; you can set it up with a dimmer switch so you can adjust light brightness. It was also easy to set up and took about a half hour to get the electrical plugged in with some help from a family friend. The light itself does not need any additional bulbs, which I really like. I was happy to see that it has 50000 hours average life, so I won't have to replace it for quite a while. My only issue is that I wish there was a video showing how to install as that would have made it much easier for me to install on my own. Overall I'm very pleased with the result and would recommend anyone looking to modernize the lighting in their home.

Amazing Upgrade for Recessed Lighting

We are remodeling our master bathroom and wanted a fresh look with our recessed lighting. I was excited to find the Lithonia Wafer-Thin Recessed Downlights. The lights are easy to install. We started from scratch with all new ceiling drywall but I noticed if we would have reused the current recessed lighting spots, these lights are just a tad bit smaller. You can easily fix that issue with a little spackle and paint. The directions were easy to follow and I installed with no issues. The lights are bright when on and give off a warm glow. I will use these again when we remodel our basement. Excellent quality product and amazingly affordable.

Illumination!!

Wow, what a difference! I have a fairly newer home, only about 8-9 years old so I like to think most of my lighting is current but boy was I wrong. I had standard recessed lights with light bulbs and installed this flush mounted LED version and what a different! I noticed a difference immediately! Very bright and illuminating, the area coverage is probably double that of my old lights. We often complained that our living room was a little on the dark side, we'll be replacing all our recessed lights with the model and I know it will fix the problem!

The perfect lighting for what I needed.

I needed a light for an odd area of my house. I have low ceilings in this area and it has a ceiling fan. The ceiling is too low to have a Fan with a light on it but it's also a small area from the fan to another Door. Not just any light will work. My husband installed the light in just minutes. He said it was very easy to do. It is a very thin, stylish light that I feel would work in any kind of room. It gives very good light. I feel it's far superior to the traditional can lights and I have plans to purchase more for other areas of my house. I'm very happy with it.

Easy to Install

This ceiling light was very easy to install. First thing I noticed and was pleased about was that it came with a template so I knew what size to make the hole for the light and that I didn't go too small or big and make an error. It worked perfectly upon the first try. I light is lightweight but durable. It has 2 clamps on the side for mounting. It didn't take long to install at all and was easy to do by myself. The LED was nice and bright with just 1 light. I installed 1 in a small bathroom in the ceiling in my home and it's perfect. I didn't want a big fixture so this worked well being recessed. I would purchase more of these in other sizes to use in other areas of my home. The brightness of the LED alone is worth it to me. Definitely would recommend these.

I thought there would be more to this

I have to say that I am a bit disappointed. While I do like the sealed light unit itself, and I do like the the mounting system for the light body to the ceiling, I do not care for the electrical connection between the light and the included, inline metal electrical box. I have looked at the box itself, and appreciate that it has knock outs that can be removed to put conduit fittings onto it for the house's wiring, There is nothing obvious on the box that would allow me to mount it to something that I could actually reach with a tool. Further, I presented this to a master electrician because I was concerned that it would meet local code and he confirmed by fear that I could not install this as is in my house and be compliant. I did a test install in my garage so that I could test the product as a light, and it is bright, yet not glaring and the mounting system keeps it hugged tightly to the ceiling. It does make for a rather easy addition to a current house if you want a ceiling light such as this but don't want to install the cans that conventional lights require. My only other worry would be getting replacement parts if something were to burn out as this is a unique product.

LED Ultra Thin Round Ceiling Light - Great Light!

I was waiting for this light to get here and I wasn't disappointed when it finally received it and hurried to install it. This light is the perfect ceiling light for my double door closet. It is just what I needed. My closet has more than enough brightness. First of all make sure you read the instructions good. It took a bit of work and time with the cutting of the hole for the installation of the light, but I used the provided hole template and traced the outer ring with a pencil. All and all it took me quite a bit of time and patience, but when it was done, it looked really nice.

Great design

This LED recessed light has such a silk design. Since I already had a place cut out in my ceiling for a recess light it was so easy to install. It came in two parts. The main part that is wired and the light plate (probably not what it's called by what I call it). When the main part is installed in the ceiling the light plate just basically snaps on. The light can be turned straight down or tilted which ever way you need it. A little about attaching the light plate, you remove the red cap from where the wires attach to an adapter (also probably not what's it's called), get the light plate and insert it into the adapter and twist then snap to the fixture. It was pretty easy to install. The bulb was included in this kit. It has a 4.5W LED bulb in it. If your looking for a recessed light then these are a great choice. I recommend these lights to everyone looking to install recessed light.

Great LED Recessed Lighting

This 3" Nickel Gimbal Recessed LED Kit was fairly easy to install. The kit provides the stencil so it was easy to trace the cutout lines for the hole. I then used my saw to make the cutout. Connecting the wires was easy and then just insert the housing. Make sure to secure the housing and then trim. The instructions are easy to understand which is a plus.

Driver Box is Challenging to Mount

I have installed 8 of these as part of the electrical rough-in for our house (have not yet connected power, so I can't comment on the light itself). It seems as though the power supply/driver is really geared towards hanging it via a keyhole mount (on the "top" side of the box in the picture). The challenge is that the lid containing the wire splices (on the "bottom" of the picture) cannot be put back in place after the box is firmly attached to the wood framing member (truss, joist, etc.). The short side of the lid (on the "left" side of the picture) is slightly longer than the box thickness, and it has two small slots through which small tabs on the box body fit. The only way I could make it work was to leave the screws slightly loose, wedge the lid under the box so that the tabs were aligned with the slots, tighten the screws, then force the lid to rotate down into place. Maybe I was just missing the big clue on how to fasten the box to the truss, but it was quite challenging to do (I got better by the eighth box I attached!).

Use other brands

I'm an electrician and have been installing these type of lights for a few years now. I've used a half dozen manufacturers. Despite looking similar, all the manufacturers I've used have had slight differences in construction. When Lithonia came out with these I was eager to try them out as they are a bigger manufacturer. Unfortunately this is not on par with the other companies. I think they cheaped out. I've had several driver failures already and while the advertised light output is great, they just don't seem to deliver as much as other comparable wattage (or even less wattage) fixtures do.
