Quality Bed for good price

Very nice bed for reasonable price. It took 2 people about 2 hours. It wasn’t difficult, the instructions were pretty good. Just take your time getting organized before you start and things should go smoothly. I separated and labeled all the parts/pieces and was very glad I did! Bed appears to be good quality, very sturdy and attractive. Received it within days of ordering it. Pleased with my purchase.

Beautiful bed, but arrived with a stain

We love our new bed. The walnut frame is very pretty. The bed and headboard are good quality. It is solid and sturdy. Assembly wasn't difficult, but we were missing a few wood screws and needed to purchase them at the hardware store. Also, our headboard arrived with a stain. Customer service was really helpful and quick to respond, but the item is currently out of stock and we couldn't easily get a replacement. As I said, we love the bed, so I'm going to try some spot cleaning. Still, that was a bit of a disappointment.

We ordered the king size version of this bed and are disappointed for several reasons: 1) The platform is 78" wide instead of the standard 76", so the support slats show through on either side of the mattress. It is also a bit longer than a standard king mattress. 2) Only a few of the support slats are screwed in place. The others are held by webbing, and many of them don't lie flat. This means that they rattle whenever there is movement on the bed, even just rolling over in the night. 3) The bed was more difficult to assemble than necessary, with recessed screws that were hard to access with the given allen key. We used a very small allen key we had that happened to match, which meant we could do 2/6 of a revolution instead of 1/6. Still tedious. 4) There were two stickers on the tops of the side rails that were very hard to remove. 5) We were also disappointed to learn after the purchase that no refund was possible. The web page for the product says that the standard return policy applies, but when I view my order on the overstock web site, it says "We are unable to accept returns for this item. Please view our Return Policy." When I click through to the return policy, it says nothing about returns not being possible. Buyer beware.

This bed is beautiful and the headboard is very comfy. Overall I would recommend this bed. However, I'm giving it four stars for two reasons: (1) Assembly was pretty difficult and long. I do have extensive experience with assembling my own furniture, and this piece was more difficult than most. Be wary of getting the side boards oriented correctly. They aren't marked for a specific side and I had to undo quite a bit of work and redo. (2) I think the center support could be better designed, with legs that angle out to both sides instead of just straight up and down. I know that beds of this type often have issues with the central support slipping to one side, and the middle of the bed collapsing as a result. I'm not too worried about this in my case (because it's on carpet), but if you have a hardwood floor or any kind of smooth surface I would think twice about buying a bed like this one with a questionable center support.
