Not Like The Old Fans

I am so disappointed in all new box fans. I paid more for this fan because I thought the metal body might mean it was like the fans of old. I was wrong. These new fans are loud and the blades are plastic and do not move the air like the old fans. We don't have ac and depend on box fans in our windows to move hot air out of the house and cool night air into the house. I had a great 1960's box fan did a wonderful job. Unfortunately it gave out a few years ago. Ever since I have tried to find a box fan to replace this gem from the past. I need an all metal fan, only 3 metal blades at an angle that moves the air efficiently, quiet motor. This fan was made in the 1960's. Why can't it be made today?

Very powerful on 'low'. No vibration-wobble! Would fit a 22" x 22" air filter, if you were using it for particulate filtration. Its a little loud for a TV room on 'low', but this fan moves lots of air with ease. I think this fan could filter air for the whole house. Its helped my allergies. We still use a ceiling fan for temperature control. I really like this fan, and it only uses about 65W on low. It comes with a 3-prong plug and a sturdy cord.

One of the two fans came damaged plus they are way too loud. Low on these fans is like high on a regular Lasko box fan.

Don't last long

I absolutely love the Air King. I was raised on using boxed fans all my life. I did the same with my two boys now they can't sleep without a fan. My youngest son is 11 years old with Autism and is nonverbal and whenever the Air King breaks. He gives me a paper that he draw the word Air king on. The sound of the Air King when its on high is amazing. I actually like the Air King better then any other boxed fan the only thing is that the regular boxed fans always last about 3 years and the Air seems to break within a year in a half. I purchased two in different years and after a little bit over a year they start to smoke like where the speed knobs are. I'm thankful that both times it happened I caught it in time. Otherwise if it was at night we might of caught on fire. The first one I purchased I smelled smoke and the motor just died and the fan wouldn't work. My second purchase I smelled smoke again but it was sparking where the speed know is and was trying to fire up. I quickly unplugged it and had to throw it away. I want to purchase another Air King so bad because my son keeps writing Air King on paper because he wants one so bad, but I feel as though it's a waste of money and they are dangerous. If only they would work on that problem and fix it where they don't smoke and spark after a little over a year use. I would definitely purchase more. It's just a shame to pay for a fan that lasts a little over a year for an expensive price and you can buy a regular Lasko box fan that may be smaller but is more safe they don't spark or smoke and they last longer for a lesser price. The Air King Company should refund customers when things like that occur.

I would probably not buy this again unless it's re designed

Frame is solid the amount of air it blows is awesome. However the amount of noise it produces is so distracting that I only run it in low even then it is to loud for in the bedroom while trying to sleep. Will probably relegate it to the garage.

Ran Non Stop for Days

These fans worked great to dry out the floor, when we were flooded in the bottom half of our home in December from too much rain and melting snow. These fans ran nonstop for days and never overheated.

If you like loud then this is for you.

Should have walked away from this fan.Big waste of time and money.

Extremely useful fan

I purchased the fan to draw the summer heat out of the house at night. We keep all windows open to let in the night time cooler air that displaces the heated air. The fan works like a charm. It's three adjustable speeds allow how much air we want to draw out depending on the temperature differential between warm air being drawn out and the cooler air entering. Glad to have purchased it.
