A party pleaser and to top it off FUN

Crate&Barrel is my go to for any of the appliances. They are top-notch and work very well. When the soft serve ice cream machine came out of course I needed it. Had a party and surprised our guest with soft serve ice cream for the dessert. It worked really well they got into the Sprinkles also. There laughter was contagious. The soft serve ice cream machine is all that it says it is and the price was also very reasonable. I can’t wait for the next surprise machine that will be coming out because I guarantee you I will be right on it.

Clever machine and makes tasty ice cream

it does make lovely whippy ice cream although not as creamy as I wanted. Problem is the ice cream gets hard too quickly and then you can no longer dispense the ice cream. It is also very difficult to get the lid off to remove the remainder of the ice cream as it freezes almost solid onto the whisk attached to the lid. There is so much excess because it freezes so quickly and it defeats the object when you have to scoop it out and freeze it as it’s only the whippy part that’s the attraction otherwise it’s just normal ice cream that you can scoop from the freezer. Messy as it drips everywhere when you remove the bowl to clean. A few design faults but as long as you are quick you will get a few nice whippy ice creams …. But only if you are quick!

Easy to Use and Great Results

The owner’s manual includes a lot of recipes for ice creams, sorbets, frozen drinks, and sauces. I just mix everything together ahead of time in my blender, then keep the pitcher of the ice cream base in the refrigerator until about 30 minutes before I’m ready to serve. Turn on the machine, pour in the base, and that’s it. I really like the extra features too: 3 topping holders/dispensers, a sauce warmer, and an ice cream cone holder.

Look out Dairy Queen

I made ice cream for the 4th of July in my new ice cream maker. My grandsons and I had a great time with it. I did freeze the bowl for several days before using the machine. However I did not chill the milk mixture and it turned out great. We had fun adding miniature M&Ms and mini chocolate chips to our cones. Very easy to assemble and disassemble and clean. I’m going to buy one for a son for Christmas.

Don’t waste your money

I followed the directions exactly, and attempted to make the soft serve. The first time, it came out like a very liquid milkshake. So the second time, I even put the ingredients in the freezer (mixed) until they were almost frozen. Same result. This machine doesn’t chill the mixture enough to make the consistency of soft serve. Very disappointing.

Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

The recipes are great and instructions are easy to follow. Ice- cream is delicious and freezes well. Mix-in option so-so; i didn’t try sprinkles - but they’d probably work well. East to clean. The main complaint I have is how much ice-cream is left on the paddle and inside the drum after it stops dispensing. I spend more time getting ice cream out of the machine after it’s done because it’s just too much to waste.

Nice soft serve machine at a great price!

I saw this ice cream machine on Sam’s website and then looked further into information on the Cuisanart site. It was quite a bit less cost to buy it at Sam’s so I decided to give it a try. I made two batches so far, vanilla and chocolate, and they’re both good! I can’t use all the ice cream at once so I freeze what’s leftover and scoop it out later. I did my second batch differently than the first patch by mixing the ingredients and refrigerating them for a few hours before mixing the ice cream. It took less time to freeze and dispense by refrigerating it after mixing. I can’t wait until my 11 year old grandson comes this summer so we can make ice cream together. Also, the mix-ins only dispense while the ice cream dispenser is operating. Many people had questions about that.

Ice cream never became ice cream or soft serve

I bought this because it looked fun and came with a Crazy Deal card of equal value. The machine is very cool and easy to clean, but the thing it is supposed to do… make soft serve, it doesn’t do too well. We followed the directions, watched YouTube videos, but only the edges of the mixture kind of freeze and the rest is just very cold milk and ingredients. We will try again a couple of more times, but a regular ice cream maker works better.

[Rewarded Review] Mr Whippy . . . but better!

I have been experimenting with this machine for the past month and am honestly so impressed. The ice cream is every bit as good as the traditional ice cream van Mr Whippy style, and the mix is very easy and cost effective to put together. The sorbet recipes in the booklets are also a great foundation for. more experimental flavours. I have piped some ice cream into a reusable tub as we made a little too much and it was still great a day or two later. The sprinkles and sauce dish are the highlight for the kids, it turns it into a really fun experience for the whole family and I can't wait for the summer!

Almost perfect.

I bought this machine as a gift for my grandson. We have had a different flavor of ice cream every night since Christmas. He gets to choose what flavor to make. It is great but one thing. I don’t like the mix in chambers. Mine doesn’t work all that great. It causes a big mess. I just avoid it all together. I will sprinkle what he wants on it afterwards with a spoon.

[Rewarded Review] Amazing Ice Cream machine

I received this Ice Cream machine last week and honestly have not stopped using it. It’s AMAZING! I made a lovely fat free frozen yogurt within seconds and it came out so fluffy and creamy. I love the compartments to add certain toppings. I had a dinner party last night and brought the ice cream machine out to play and it was honestly the showstopper of the night. Everyone loved it. Highly recommend. It comes with a little menu with loads of other ice cream recipes on there so you can start straight away.

[Rewarded Review] Delicious ice cream, so fun to use

I was so excited to receive this product, as not only are Cuisinart’s ice cream makers amazing, this concept seemed so fun to use, especially with all the hosting that happens in this festive season. It is so simple to use, makes unbeatable ice cream and it’s also easy to clean which is always a win! The extra compartments for the toppings is an amazing feature. Can’t wait to continue to use and will definitely be a big hit in the summer with the family!

[Rewarded Review] Amazing smooth soft serve ice cream

I was kindly gifted this product by cuisinart. It arrived a few days ago and I was so excited to use it! I’ve used ice cream makers before and it’s so cool! Absolutely loved it. Used a simple vanilla ice cream recipe and it came out fab! Love cuisinart products. Def would recommend!

Disappointed.

Disappointed. I expected more from this brand. It’s noisy and if your mixer bowl is not frozen to “super” it will not freeze the ice cream and there’s no good way to recover your ingredients. You have to let them go all over the counter or down the sink. Terrible options. Freezing the bowl in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator is not good enough, even though it seems frozen solid. Also, provided you get everything right in the making of ice cream, the dispensing is not a smooth continuous flow of ice cream like you would expect. It’s short little chunks of soft ice cream. Delicious, but not beautiful.

[Rewarded Review] Lots of work for an occasional thing

I enjoyed using the Mix it in Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker by Cuisinart ICE-48 but it was a lot of work for something that I would only enjoy occasionally. The recipe for the vanilla soft serve was good (I put half as much more vanilla into it, as a preference) but it needed refrigeration after the machine blended (otherwise, the ice cream was too runny). I like that the add-ons (I used sprinkles and mini mm's) dispensed periodically so it would mix in properly and the chocolate topping was kept nice and warm in the cup. I think I would find more utility for it if I were an avid soft serve consumer but, as it is, I just find it cumbersome to use and take up valuable counter space. It's one of those contraptions you keep in the back of the closet and use once a year, if that. Last note, the compartments and lids for the add-ons/mix-ins are super loose and aren't tied down, they just stay in their slots if properly placed.

[Rewarded Review] Love being able to make my own ice cream

I can’t believe how much I enjoy being able to make my own ice cream, and how extremely easy it is, actually! I never realized how five ingredients and about 30 minutes would change my outlook on dessert. The machine is simple to put together and get ready for use, and as long as you have the bucket in the freezer ahead of time, you can put your ingredients together and then pour them immediately into the bucket and switch it on. I love having the toppings on the side and being able to add them in as I open the spigot for the ice cream to come out. I had some initial trouble with the top clicking on and getting the stirrer out when the ice cream was done, but it’s really a matter of getting used to the machine. I found out that you don’t want to let the machine stop with the mixer still in place or it’s almost impossible to get it moving again if you need to keep mixing. All in all, this is going to get a lot of use in our house, and I’m excited to try more flavors than just vanilla!

[Rewarded Review] Must have for summer!

The quality of this ice cream maker is unbelievably superb! The ease of making soft serve ice cream is amazing! I not only made soft serve but I made sorbet, as well. The instructions were easy to understand and simple to follow. The condiment dispensers worked easily and are a great addition to the ice cream maker. There is also a cone holder! The ice cream turned out just perfect! It’s easy to clean. The design is beautiful and will match with any kitchen decor. A few recipes were included with the instructions! The freezer bowl is double insulated that holds 1.5 quarts of ice cream. This machine would be a hit at a kids birthday party. I’m so pleased with this ice cream maker!
