Lovely gift

Bought it as an engagement gift for a dear friend’s granddaughter. I had it sent as she is out of state. So never saw in person. However the recipient sent me a lovely thank you note raving about it. So apparently it was a hit. Mikasa is always a great brand.

This is definitely a gorgeous bowl. Utensils are super sturdy and nice. The only downside to me is that I was expecting a bigger bowl. My impression was that this was "extra large". It's a normal size salad serving bowl. One reviewer gave it 4 stars because she thought it was too big - strange to me. My bad because even looking at the size and dimension information it didn't register with me. For future I would suggest showing it in comparison to other bowls so you can see size comparison more clearly.

Nice size , nice weight , utensils are nice too! I needed a - not too big ,not too small - salad bowl and this fits the bill. It was a good price as well. Haven’t used it yet but hopefully it wears as well as my dishes I’ve had for many years.

This is a beautiful bowl! Very large, so perfect for party foods. Shipped securely & fast. The salad servers are nicely made and compliment the bowl nicely. Highly recommend this bowl for your kitchen. You'll use it for so much more than salads!

It is an ok set.

I like the size of this salad bowl but it arrived chipped. I don’t think it was chipped during shipment because it was well packaged and protected. I’m surprised Macy’s would ship a damaged item like this. I kept it because I don’t want to go through the return process. It’s very light and nothing like any Mikasa item I have from the same line. I think it’s a cheaper version of the real thing.

Versatile

Perfect bowl for large salads, both veggie or fruit salad. Also makes a nice fruit bowl. Works well for any application that requires a large bowl. Love the Italian Countryside design and utensils.

Nice Set, But Watch for Flaws

I ordered this set to use when I have guests. It is a good size for a large salad with room to toss the salad in the same bowl. Unfortunately, the bowl I received had a number of small pits in the finish that detracted from its appearance. Thankfully, Mikasa was aware that this is a problem that can occur in a handmade product and resolved the problem quickly. This is the only one of the numerous Italian Countryside pieces I have ordered that has arrived with flaws. I still need to purchase several additional serving pieces and look forward to doing so.

Salad bowl

This is a beautiful piece which is not too heavy or too light. I am obsessed with Italian countryside style. I love its quality. Very elegant look. The two wooden pieces are durable. big enough to prepare salad. Worth every penny.

Dinnerware scrolled edges flat indistinct

MOST, but not all, of the serveware pieces had distinctive scrollwork, but the dinnerware sets were terrible, could barely see any scrollwork at all. I complained directly to Mikasa by phone and email and in all three responses they basicaly told me that's just how it is.

LOOKS GREAT ON THE TABLE!

I ordered this for my Christmas dinner table to match all my other Italian Countryside dishes. It is a large bowl, well made, and held enough salad for at least 10-12 people! Even the serving spoon and "fork" have a design on the ends to complement the pattern! I highly recommend this if you want to add to your beautiful table setting!
