Very simple option for whole house fan

I bought these for installing a quietcool dual speed fan and it was very simple and now the interface is very simple for people to use. You click the time you want and know exactly what is going on without any kind of app on a phone or web browser. I linked it to a speed control which is also very simple and good for this application.

Performs it’s job as designed. Instructions included were much clearer than those of the Quiet Cool attic fan that I bought it for. The wiring diagram for the fan was crap. Once I saw these instructions and those for the speed control switch, which I also bought, it all made sense. If you’re not very good with wiring diagrams, you’re gonna struggle.

More Flexibility for Your Fan

Purchased to replace a piece of junk Leviton LTB02 20A (used to control our whole house fan) that developed a loud buzzing then after a couple weeks crapped out completely. Would have preferred the 15m-30m-1h-2h presets of the LTB02 but Woods has been working fine. Couldn't find any indication Leviton has fixed the faulty design of the LTB02 so I decided not to buy another one and tried the Woods instead. So far, so good.

It is deep and not easy to fit into the wall box. The attached wires eliminated my need for a jumper wire to the the high and low switch I attached it to. There is only one button so it is not random access to a different time setting, there is no way to avoid turning it off to change to a shorter time. I really like that the indicator lights are visible but dim so that it doesn't light up a dark room at night. Operation seems smooth and reliable.

The switch works well. It fit in a two gang electrical box with the ON/OFF switch for my 4 amp whole house fan and looks good. A red LED is lit when it is in the timer is Off. Green LEDs are lit for all the timed positions. When I set it for 4 hours, it starts in the four hour position and then cycles through the lower positions for a total of four hours. The time can be set with the small white pushbutton switch at the bottom. For $10.99 it is well worth the price.

Got this for an attic fan about 2 months ago. It has seen little use since then, but it does the job intended and should not be subject to the problems that have plagued mechanical timers I have used in the past. It's easy to hook up and simple to use. A problem it unavoidably shares with mechanical timers is that it fills up the box and leaves very little space in the box for the wires and wire nuts. Use an oversized box if that option is available to you. Note also that it requires both hot and neutral conductors to be present in the box. This is not always the case with existing switch installations.

It is kind of bulky to fit in the electrical box with all the other wires so it was kind of hard to get it to lay flush with the cover. It works great though. We bought it to control our whole house fan and we're happy with it.
