Easy install

This thermostat was very easy to install. The setup and programming instructions were very easy to follow. Installation took about 30 minutes for a 70 year old man using the thermostat for the first time. I bought the unit to replace another very low cost Honeywell unit because this new unit has a fan 'circulate' mode that causes the HVAC system fan to turn on about 1/3 of the time to provide air circulation and temperature stability in the house when the system is not calling for actual cooling or heating. It works really well especially for spring and fall between heavy heating or cooling system use. I do wish that there was some indication on the thermostat of whether the system was just running the fan rather than actually cooling or heating. I am considering adding some 24VAC LED indicator lights to the system for fan, cool, and heat. I have a simple forced air gas furnace and single stage air conditioner. This unit was not available at any big box retail home supply store. I can not comment on any tech support because I didn't need any with a simple residential 5-wire installation. There is no Wi-Fi needed.

Wide temperature swings and inaccurate temperature monitoirng.

Had this installed by a well known HVAC company in the Nashville area. I replaced a Lux thermostat because I thought the temp swings were too great and it was hard to program. This unit is much worse. I'm using it for a separate heat pump in an upstairs Bonus room probably about 800 ft2. The thermostat will read 66 for room temperature. A thermometer set directly on top pull reat 68 or more and another thermometer in the room will read 75 degrees. This did not happen with the Lux or previous thermostats. I can turn the temp setting on the Honeywell to 64 degrees and the rest of the room will begin to come down to about 72. Using the ceiling fan in winter mode helps even the temps, but this was never as severe a problem with the previous thermostats.
