Quiet, does the job with no fuss, no issue, expectations met,
The first one purchased rattled like a prop airplane and was returned. The replacement does not rattle but is still not that quiet. As it is being used in a 1/2 bath it will suffice.
Runs quiet and does a good job.
Not Very Quiet
We purchased this because of this specification: "0.7 sones for ultra-quiet performance, you might not notice it's on"
It claims to be quiet, but I was surprised at how quiet it actually is.
Much louder than rates
Just got this installed. The sound rating is completely false. This thing is LOUD. I installed it in an upstairs bathroom but I can hear it from the living room on the main floor. Louder than the 30year old builder-grade fan it replaced. I should have just got a new DC motor upgrade for the existing and a new plastic cover instead of wasting my time and money on this
Easy to install, quiet and efficient. These were installed 2 weeks ago and we love them. Only negative- the springs to hold the cover on are not formed correctly
Good
Good products Thanks
We’ve been using the fan for two weeks. It clears the bathroom easily and is so quiet, I had to check to make sure it was actually on! Highly recommend this product.
Loud and rattling
I bought two of these and had them installed today. We used 4” hoses for extraction, which I really hoped would avoid the issue that some other people were having with the exhaust fans rattling and generally sounding like a fan in a dive bar or gas station bathroom. I’m so disappointed in the quality here, and I don’t know if I have any recourse to fix this.
Works fine, but the clips to secure were difficult to use.
Instructions are garbage, fan is fine
As with most items requiring install, I looked at reviews for red flags, which appear to be focused primarily on installing the cover and the multiple frustrations there. The instructions were absolute garbage (why the heck isn't there a simple video to refer to? the 'video' in the product listing is just an ad), we found there to be no technical issues whatsoever in getting this in once we watched a generic video online of how to install one. (Removing the old fan was more of a doozy).
This bathroom fan works good as far as venting the bathroom but is NOT as quiet as I had hoped for. The product details states "0.7 sones for ultra quiet performance, you might not notice it's on". While it is about half or maybe a third as loud as one of those cheap $35 fans, you WILL definitely notice when it's on. I can turn it on, close the bathroom door and then walk down the hall about 10-12FT and still barely hear it. It doesn't rattle or whistle or anything like that, the sound it makes is just the air blowing sound. Otherwise it's a decent fan and installation is straightforward.
Fairly quiet, easy installation, 4" exhaust, I needed to buy a separate 4" to 3" reducer
Do not buy for room-side install! Poor design
This fan is cheaply made and is rather loud. The box can only be oriented in one direction and is almost square, making a room side installation impossible without cutting a much larger hole in the ceiling than is needed for the fan itself, requiring patching after the fan is screwed into the joist. The damper doesn't work right and the directions are TERRIBLE! This is the 3rd bathroom vent fan I've installed and by FAR the worst.
Total crap
Fan is so loud and has consistent rattling noise, i wasted the cost of fan and $250 to frame and mount to a new place. I am at total loss, do not waste you tine and money on this piece of crap.
This fan was installed by a professional and made an awful noise. My contractor said I just got a lemon and that this brand is normally good. Bought another Broan and it works as advertised.
These exhaust fans are amazingly simple to install, and they are very quiet - just as advertised. I bought two of them to replace 40 years old units, and we are quite pleased with the results.
Quiet! Worth the time to install it.
Installation was just as described in the manual. Although I have installed several of these so I knew what to do. The springs do suck so just be careful when you put the cover on not to break the little plastic things holding the springs. That is the hardest part.
Great fan. Super quiet. Easy to install. Took about 45 minutes, including cutting the opening a bit larger to accommodate the size. This replaced a 40+year old 50cfm fan.
