Just too easy
After six years I had to replace this unit in my Airstream and was prepared for a struggle. Much to my surprise it was a 10 minute project--start to finish. It's much like plugging in a landline phone

Communication deficiencies - thermostat
Thermostats do go bad. However you should check your control boxes inside your air conditioner return air to ensure the four conductor telephone cable is not your communication problem. The RV manufacturers use telephone cable extenders (joiners) which corrode over time and contribute to the communication problem between the ACs, control boxes and the thermostat. Have a spare thermostat can help you diagnose the problem bu connecting it at the unit to by-bass the in-wall wiring.
