Love the fact I don't have to lift the lid by hand.

The quality of the trash can is very poor. The lid does not pop up atomically due to a poor design. Sorry that I ordered it online. At a store I would have noticed the defect. Too hard and expensive to return it. I will deal with it, but will not order online again.

Rubbermaid quality & customer care is past tense!

This is a $40 trash can that I bought from Rubbermaid because of their reputation for quality. The lid just broke on me after only a year's use! Rubbermaid does not offer a replacement lid. I'm certainly not buying a whole new trash can from them!!! What happened to Rubbermaid quality and customer care! No apology and thank you for my feedback is going to change my mind about how bad Rubbermaid's quality has gone done the tubes!!!

ARRIVED BROKEN AND CREDIT NEVER RECEIVED.

It arrived broken. I called to get it picked up for credit and Fedex never showed up and it's still sitting in my carport. I called twice and they re-issued the tag but nothing ever happened so I just lost $25.00 on a broken trash can. And I have to figure out what to do with it. The box it came in is way too large and is in my way. I went to WalMart and bought one in the store and I am very happy with it.

For something as simple as a pop top trash receptacle you'd think Rubbermaid would get the design right. Instead they designed the opening latch in such a way that when you depress it the lid sticks to the frame of the entire lid preventing it from opening unless you pry it open while holding the latch down. I still have a 12 or 13 year old trash receptacle made by Sterilite with a similar if not exact type of latch and it still works like a charm. If only this Rubbermaid one was made with the same quality.

Purchased this exact model of Rubbermain a month ago at Ace Hdwr Mountain View Hickory, NC. The spring lid is already broken on this $40 trash receptacle. $40 is just too much to spend on this as it turns out. The lid is obviously junk.

It was hard getting the lid to stay on but a worker in the store showed me how it worked. Bought it as a gift for my son’s house and his wife said she loves it

It’s a waste can, it works. Would have been 5 stars, but reallly had to struggle to get the label off.

This product was very poor quality. The top came off its springs and was impossible to get it back on.

Very disappointing wastebasket and NOT worth the price

After having this kitchen wastebasket for only a couple of months, I dropped the cover and it complete came appart. The flimsy metal springs both fell off. After I was able to recover both springs (one of which had fallen into the trash and was almoas impossible to find), I was eventually able to figure out how to re-assemble them with the cover (no eaey task). Fast forward another couple of months, and the same thing happened again. Except this time, the cover broke and attaching the springs was not possible. So now, after shortly after 3 months, I have a completely useless watebasket, which will now become a part of my trash.

We recently got a dog and we have been trying out various wastebaskets with lids. This is the best so far. It has a pair of wire bails to hold the top of the bag and they work very well. The labels are hard to get off. Peel as much off as you can, and then place a hot wet towel over the remains for a minute or two, the rest will come off easily. This may take slightly more room than other wastebaskets of this capacity, roughly 17"x14". We will be buying more of them.
