[Rewarded Review] Good buy

I bought this for when my grandaughter stays and works well. Operation is easy and less intrusive than a standard stair gate. I like the idea of no permanent bar on the step which I think could be a trip hazard.

I bought this for the top of our stairs - as I didn’t want a rail that would be a trip hazard for me. Super easy to install. Slightly inconvenient to close (you need two hands) but can open one handed. Template made it the easiest installation I’ve done.

Great baby gates

Really happy with this purchase. I bought 2 one for the bottom and one for the top of my stairs. They also come with spare wall fixings so that you can move them to other parts of the house if required.

Amazing stair gate!

After trying multiple different types of stair gate we struggled to find a solution that Sophia wouldn’t be able to open or get around. This dreambabysafety retractable stair gate was able to fit my needs. So far this has been fantastic and has kept Sophia safe and allowed us to control when she goes up the stairs. It’s super easy to install and comes with easy instructions to follow.

Love it but has to buy extra spacers

I recently bought this gate and it seems very sturdy. But when I went to install it I discovered that you need to purchase extra spacers if the bottom half is attaching to a baseboard. It has been difficult trying to find these spacers. Seems a shame that they cannot include the

[Rewarded Review] Perfect and just what I need

Absolutely love everything about this safety gate. I can get my double pram through it easily, it’s effortless to open one handed and looks athletically pleasing. Perfect for the kiddies and the pooch

Disappointing, not safe at all

Installation is easy, really stiff to pull across, main problem is there is no way to lock it and it doesn't have any proper closing so a slight touch and the gate slides back open which means it is unusable as she can touch it and the gate slides back open. I now have 8 holes in my walls so have to fix the damage this gate has caused.

Simple to operate

This is the second Dreambaby gate, the original seems to have jammed after 10 years service. The new gate is lighter to operate, maybe we just got used to the spring resistance being stronger. Easy to install with fitting template. The grey colour gate is well suited to our decor.

It’s a bit complicated to install (the instructions are not well written). The retractable gate snaps into the wall anchors. It is far too easy for the gate to detach from the wall. We purchased this to block off the kitchen from our medium sized golden-doodle and he pooled it down in no time at all. Disappointed!

Not as good as I was hoping

First of all i didnt get this free as part of a promotion although inside the package it said 10%off MY NEXT PURCHASE for a review that i cant even figure out how to use ,so im here to give real feedback, enjoy.Just received this today and not only were the directions unclear but it tells you to place these metal brackets into the wall and then screw the plastic pieces into that...there are no metal brackets. Then it has I don't know at least 5 other pieces that aren't even used in putting this up so I'm not sure what the point is in those, if there's anything in the directions that says what they can be used for I wouldn't know because once they confused me to the point of frustration I gave up on them and figured it out on my own. The gate itself is okay but not worth 70 dollars and if I had other options for a retractable version I'd have sent it back because to me it just seems like it won't last long and I'm not sure if I have a warranty or not but I'm guessing not. I ordered mine through the lowes website and had high hopes for it but I know after putting it up that there's no way my kid can push on this at all because I don't have faith that it won't break down. It only has two things that it slips into on the other end. I really hope it lasts longer than I feel like it will but I can't say I have high hopes but I can say I'm $70 in and hoping for the best. I'm not saying you shouldn't get it because like I said if you want a retractable version it's the only one but I do think for the money it could at least have metal brackets and even metal ends that the gate slips into ( i mean for the price of the extra random pieces included its attainable )so the tension doesn't wear it down or break over time. My best advice is good luck and use youtube for putting it together.

Would recommend it

It was a bit tricky to install but the mounting templates really help. Works well but the grab handle should be farther down so you can extend it easier. Often have to use my foot to steady the bottom while trying to get it into the catch. But overall it’s good and being able to use it in two places is great.

We wanted this gate to be great, but it isn't. I called the manufacturer to verify that we had correct mounting hardware - very friendly, and we did! Once installed, however, the product does not perform as expected. Opening is very stiff and difficult - definitely a two handed operation. Once the ends ("locking rods") are placed in the "hooks", they dislodge easily, and the gate violently snaps back to its' casing. We mounted correctly according to the templates; checked measurements and level. I accidently hit the bottom edge of the open/"secured" gate with my shoe and it violently snapped close. I would NEVER trust this gate with my children or my pets. I should have sent it back immediately when the first page of instructions warns "Children have died or been seriously injured when gates are not securely installed." FYI, there is NO WAY to secure the rods in the "hooks" as they slip right out of the plastic with very little provocation. This is such an issue, I left a notice for Consumer Product Safety Commision, and would never donate this item due to lack of safety. Thank you.

The photo of the woman holding the baby is a con. It's impossible to use this with one hand, as you need a hand to press down the release button at the the same time that you open / close the gate with the other hand. You HAVE to put down what ever is in your other hand to use it.

Does not do what it’s supposed to

This is supposed to be easy to use. Yet it’s always getting stuck or jammed. It also says that it can be used one handed, this is not true. Its value for money is ridiculous. £50 for something that gives you an aneurysm every time you use it.

[Rewarded Review] overall a nice gate, but hard to use

I put this gate in my half bath since it doesn't have a door. It works great at keeping my kids out of my bathroom. I think this gate is great for a room that doesn't need accessed that often. The gate pulls tightly across, so there is no way a child could go over or under it. However, I would not use it for a dog because a dog could easily tear it up. A puppy could crawl under it because there is a gap between the floor and the gate. It is kind of difficult for me to get used to opening this gate. If I retract the gate too fast, it will get messed up at the bottom of the roll. If my hand stops for just a second while closing the gate, I have to start over because that locks the gate. I don't like that I need both hands to open it. If my hands are full I have to set everything down to open it. My five-year-old hasn't figured out how to open it yet. I think that there are too many steps for him to figure out. My husband installed it. It took him about 15 minutes without any issues. It includes two sets of wall mounts so that the gate can be moved in different spots easily.

Not a one handed job

This is the most disappointing product i have purchased in a long time. It came swiftly and well packaged Studio kept me up to date at all times with the tracking etc. The instructions were relatively straight forward and the guides for where to place the brackets were very helpful. The problem came in the mechanism and design itself. This is advertised as a one-handed easy to operate safety gate. Unfortunately, it absolutely is not, you have to push and twist the button at the top of the gate and keep it down while you slide the material over to the holders. As the gate is tensioned to pull itself back this can be quite tricky if it is over a larger space. The tension is so tightly held within 2 days of having it the bracket was moving loose and i did not have any confidence that it would stay in place. I returned the item without issue and i am impressed with customer services i just wish this was marketed a little more honestly.

[Rewarded Review] Not the greatest gate

First, I give props for a cool new sleek design. The concept is there, the execution is not.

[Rewarded Review] Does the job

I was very excited to put this gate at my sons doorway so he cannot leave his room and go downstairs in the middle of the night. It requires drilling into the wall or trim. So we had to drill holes into the doorway which I was hesitant about. But I believe it was worth doing. The retractable feature is great, very compact while the gate is not in use. The door cannot be opened with one hand easily. It more so requires two hands. Overall, I am excited about the product and it is perfect for what we needed.

[Rewarded Review] Great for children and pets!

This retractable indoor/outdoor security gate is perfect for our first floor stairs that lead to the second floor! My two oldest children have no issues retracting the gate to go upstairs. This gate provides peace of mind, knowing my infant cannot crawl up the stairs. Even though this retractable gate is in place, I still keep an eye on my youngest.
