I wanted the slow release toilet seat, but I didn't ask for it. It is great all but that.

Arrived chipped so returned to store which doesn’t carry this item. Didn’t want to risk getting another chipped one so purchased something that I didn’t really want.

These are very good quality. Easy to install. Very pleased with purchase.

Unstable seat

This is the second seat I purchased as the first one wouldn't stay on the toilet. The second one isn't much better but if you align the seat with the toilet and hold it in place while then sitting on it it will hold in place.

Get in and get out.

It's great,, better than the plastic seat that came with the toilet,, I don't care much for any Kohler products,, cheap crap as far as I'm concerned,, but this seat is made of wood,, nice and sturdy........

3rd toilet seat I bought from home depot, trying to match color of the original cimarron toilet I'd bought from home depot years ago, in "biscuit" shade. Each seat was much too light in color, even the Kohler brand, marked "biscuit". I finally asked for help from 2 HD employees in the bathroom aisle & was advised to contact Kohler & ask them for help in matching a seat with the toilet shade.

2nd one - Nice seat, plastic hinges

Overall this is a good quality seat ( I have the elongated one) Even in the packaging they have a measuring format of the size so you know right away before unpacking if your seat will fit. I am only replacing this seat after 7 years due to the plastic hinges, which did have some wear due to having an assist rail for mobility limited people in my home, which stressed the hinges some. If I didnt have the rail, 7 years would still be going strong. Seat is wood, it is not "soft/ quiet close" this is just standard seat. Less expensive than big box hardware stores.

Don't use the hardware

Why does EVERYTHING need to be plastic? I give the toliet seat a 5 out 5, but the stupid plastic hardware didn't work. After 1/2 an hour trying to screw the plastic bolts on to the plastic nuts provided (and stripping the plastic bolts), I gave up and used the metal bolts orginally on the toliet with a couple of nuts I found in my basement. Done in 2 minutes. Hey Kohler -- don't be so cheap. Geez....

Big Improvement

Sturdy and easy to install. We were having issues with our old toilet seat constantly having to be tightened down. Also the plastic was beginning to crack underneath the seat. This toilet seat is much sturdier and so far is staying in place with the original install.

Very sturdy, but can pinch on closing

I like this seat. It's sturdy and seems quite durable--and is well made. My only complaint comes when putting the seat down from the UP position. Unless you hold the lid separately, just putting the seat down with one hand without holding the lid will cause the lid to come down on top of fingers. Not sure if a little WD-40 would fix this or not, as it looks like the hinge is designed to work this way.

A KOHLER FAN

Prefer the wood seat over plastic. Also not a fan of the automated closing of the seat with the plastic one.

I had this exact seat and it lasted for many years. It is sturdy, fits well, and matches. The price was good.

This is a good toilet seat, simple to install but it is not as good as the one I replaced. Kohler has a better one, it just costs more and I wish I had bought the better one. I will probably be doing just that in 6 months where the best one lasted me over 10 years!

Looks like a close match in color and size. Well built with a good feel.

For the price, I really thought this seat was soft close. On other web sites this toilet seat Stonewood offers "silent close". Mine was not a soft or silent close.

Great seat!

Wood is a lot better than plastic, much easier to clean! Much heavier whereas plastic seats stick to your bum when you stand up. They also don't stain like plastic does!

Not a soft close as described

This product stated it was a soft close. It definitely was just the standard cover seat but was easy to install. Just not what I was expecting when I was clearly looking for a toilet seat cover that didn’t slam down.

The lid has come off already and am debating whether to try and fix it or return it. I bought two of these and they both have loosened up with use. I would not buy this again.
