Don't buy if you turn it on and off

Scrappy. I bought 2 within 3 years. It works but the buttons are poor design. I adjust the temp regularly to accommodate variations in temp for an old house. THe buttons fall off and we ended up using the end of a toothbrush to adjust the temp. Now, we're moving and guess what, the buttons fell off. Did not buy it again. Just buy the one with the knob and forget about the digital look.

Its sleek design makes me feel better about the fact that I have these silly little wall heaters in my house.

Cadet Heater

I love the Cadet brand, this was not what I ordered. Of course they no longer make the model I am trying to replace. Wish they would leave a good thing alone. You cannot turn this model off

Not going to last.

I purchased one of these units a long time ago, the control module burned up in 2021. They warranted it out. the warranty unit has stopped working as of 2024. Save your money and your house. If you're not comfortable with pops and flashes coming out of the unit in the middle of the night STAY AWAY.

Don't touch it with a 10 foot pole

Extremely problematic design will only last 3 years tops. If you're OK with it self-destructing in the middle of the night than go ahead with your purchase.

On off button breaks after a year

Cheap plastic on off button, attached only on one thin side. Guaranteed to break after a year. This was my 2nd heater, same issue, lasted the same length of time, incurable. There will not be a 3rd. Do not waste your time or money.

Design flaw

The heater works great... until the plastic control button breaks. Then you got to buy a new unit as there is no replacement part.

Horribly loud, won't turn off

We installed this heater in our bedroom. I hate it. The thermostat controller is garbage. Even setting the fan to 0 and the heat to 40 degrees, the thing won't turn off. The fan is loud and make a loud electric hum sound which is amplified by the steal casing and mount to the wall. It does put of heat and the fan speed does increase on its own, but it is a loud wobble/rattle sound. For over $300 I would hope to have better bearings and a functional controller. do not buy.

So worth the money, it maintains a good temperature in the rooms. I initially had the other Cadet heater with no thermostat and just a knob. That was so inefficient at maintaining a comfortable temp in the rooms. Easy install as well.

Lit on Fire

This Unit lit on fire In my wall. The fan melted and thankfully it was properly insulated so the fire didnt spread too far past the unit. Do not buy this heater

Great customer service

This was a replacement unit for one that I had purchased that had an issue. The new unit was sent right out. I couldn't be happier. Will definitely be ordering from you again.

Thermostat Buttons Break Off and Confusing Control Logic

This unit was in a house I purchased. During the first year living in the house, the + and - temperature buttons broke off. This happened in 2022 and the heater was manufactured in 2018. I called Cadet and they said that the warranty was no longer effective and that there was no recall for this issue. The buttons are made of brittle plastic and poorly designed for durability. In addition, the logic on the thermostat is very confusing and hard to understand. I would not purchase this heater again.

A max of 1000w at 120v is absurd for a product this pricey

I'm hardwiring in a in wall heater and the best you can do is use 2/3 the amps/watts of a 14 gauge wire to heat the room? Seems like a waste compared to other units, I can plug in a $40 room heater to an outlet off Amazon that is 1500w and heats the room faster than this. The only thing this has going for it is it replaces aging in-wall heaters from the 90s, but other than that, it's a joke. Giving it two stars because while it technically does heat a space, it barely brings my 12ftx10ft bathroom from 65f to 75f within a few hours, and that's during the summer. I'd hate to see what it does over the winter when that bathroom can/will reach 50/55f indoors.
