Large. Holds plenty of water. With a nozzle on the front. It also has a threaded drain on the bottom back. This allows a hose connection and has more pressure that the front brass fitting.
I got two of these to help prevent mulch washout and erosion from gutter runoff, and also to have a water source on one side of the house. They were easy to assemble and look great! And they are doing the job. Of course it depends on the size of your roof, but I get ~80 gallons from an inch of rain. Crazy cool!
I ordered 2. Both came defective and leak from the bottom, but not at the fitting connections. It seems to be a manufacturer defect in the material used. I ordered the white sand and both leaked. Wayfair sent me 2 replacements and the same problem with the replacements. The material seems to be porous and the water finds its way out the bottom through the actual material of the barrel. Take a look at the photo
It's terrible. If I could give it negative stars I would. It leaks and it looks cheap - though at $200 it's not. This is the second time in less than a year that Wayfair has been severely disappointing. I will not be purchasing from you again.
Beautiful!! I'm using them for an indoor off grid water supply. The linking feature is awesome. I purchased the pump kit and it provides adequate pressure to feed my kitchen sink and shower. I fill it with municipal water rather than rainwater. Ihave 2 and plan to purchase a 3rd so I can have 150 gallons of fresh water at hand. Great product.
These Rain Barrels are exactly what I was looking for. They are stylish and functional at the same time. We have had a significant amount of rain in the last few weeks, and they have been the perfect addition for our gardening needs. The water we will collect from our rain barrel collection system will allow us to use keep our gardens growing during our growing season without having to pull out our water hose.
Hooked the two I purchased up right before a torrential rainfall (one out front and one in the backyard). They are attractive and were well made. Both filled up in no time. I look forward to using a soaker hose to them and doing a strategic watering after days without rain. In the summer I could probably use two more of these and they are designed to attach multiple barrels easily. So this may be on my "to purchase" list for the near future.
Shopping was easy and rain barrel was delivered on time, but box had small tear in it. When opened up, rain barrel was ok, but the accessories were missing. There is no spigot, Teflon tape, nozzle with shut off cap. I am trying to figure out how to get these or return it.
I purchased the white rain barrel. The image makes it seem like a very solid, thick white plastic, but mine seems to be a lighter, thinner looking material than the image. We just had the first large rainfall since I have installed it and water was spewing from the sealant that the manufacturer used around the back siphon. I’m really disappointed.
I read the reviews, but I decided to take a chance and hope things would turn out better for me because the size and look fit what I wanted. The rain barrel arrived with missing parts (spigot, hose connector and plumbing tape). Customer service was great though and eventually I had all my pieces.
I read it it four stars out of five because of the spigot. As most users here are complaining about that problem, I have the same problem and I am in the trades. So the trick to getting it on properly is you back thread it like if you were loosening it out and just back thread it 2 to 3 threads and you’ll feel like click almost. Then you can continue going clockwise threading it into the rain barrel. However do not over tighten it too tight otherwise you will strip the plastic because it is a plastic to metal connection. A pro tip you could also try doing, instead of also using the plumbers tape is to use contact cement. this will create a real nice seal and you’ll never have issues leaking.
