Necessary for anchoring to concrete.
Used these anchors to attach a couple 4x4 post bases to an old concrete porch for handrails. Use a hammer drill and masonry bit and drill hole deeper than needed. Be sure to vacuum/blow dust out of hole first or this will not fully insert.
