Reviews

It was great until it wasn't.

My wife and I purchased this range for our new home. The range worked perfectly for just over a year before the bottom element went out on the larger oven. The wires on the back of the element got so hot they burnt off. We were just outside the warranty window on this product. We paid a service technician to rewire the element. That lasted for a little while before it happened again. We have now had to pay a technician to rewire the same element four times. (Look up reviews and videos. This is a very known issue with these ranges.) We were finally ready to give up and just go purchase a different brand when I found ZLINE came out with an "Updated bake element kit". I have just ordered the kit and hope this will fix our problem for good. Also, one of our pre-heat indicator lights just stopped working.

DO NOT BUY

I purchased a Zline 36inch Dual Fuel free standing oven from Lowe's in September of 2023. We remodeled the kitchen before moving in and it got installed November 21, 2023. We moved in December first. Well in less than a year (October of this year) of using it the bottom heat element burnt out. I called them and they sent me a new part but I was on my own finding someone to install it. After calling over a dozen repair places I convinced one to install it for me. He was hesitant as he hates working on Zline. Well he installed it and it brok within 30 minutes (it was installed correctly). Bu. not only did the replacement heat element break the whole oven broke (first time as only the bottom element and the broil function/fans worked). The replacement part was 'faulty' according to customer service rep. At this point it's already been two weeks. So they send me another heat element and now a thermostat which I was told would fix the entire problem. After complaining some they finally agreed to cover me under warranty and send someone to repair it instead of me begging people to do so.

Great Range- Just a Couple Things

Love the stovetop with the upgraded burners! The stock burners also come with, so you have backup! I swapped the ferrous the top mounting screws for stainless steel because those screws rotted on my last range and I wasn’t able to remove them to service the burners. why the designers would use non stainless in a food area like that is beyond me. Do yourself a favor and change out those 9 screws to stainless upon install! The oven works fine and for an only 15amp hook up preheats as fast as my Bosch did. Before purchasing I called customer service and got someone who spoke clear English and knew the product right away- a test I like to do on durable goods like this (Bosch fails this test). It also looks like parts are readily available and not over priced. There’s a control cooling fan that blows warm air over the oven handle. Perfect for drying damp towels!I wish the oven were larger and I think that big bottom cover panel could be a warming drawer- seems like a waste of space and functionality. That said ,I would buy this range again and look forward to living with it for a long time!

Disappointed

We purchased our white 30 inch gas freestanding dual range in September 2022. I really loved it, but while baking a few days ago, we heard a very loud popping noise while we were sitting outside on our back patio. The glass on the oven door had exploded. Thank goodness it was contained. We attempted contacting Lowe’s, who had us contact the warranty company we purchased a 5 year warranty plan with. The company, Assurrant, has an online system to look up your email or receipt number, which they were unable to locate so I gave to wait until they open after the holiday to see if I can get my range repaired or replaced. I am absolutely stunned something like this could actually occur.

Bad product and lousy customer service

This is the first review of any product I've ever been compelled to make, but feel like anyone considering purchasing this stove needs to know. We bought this stove for a kitchen remodel and had it installed in December 2022. It looked good....it cooked well....people commented on it and we were happy until November 2023 (right before Thanksgiving) when it stopped heating correctly. For example, we would set it for High Bake or Convection Bake (because we never use Low Bake) and the temperature for 400 and the oven thermometer (we purchased separately) would only read 150 or 200. It didn't matter how high we set the temperature, the most the oven could manage to get to was maybe 250. We contacted Z Line.....my wife called them 4 or 5 times and was on hold for over an hour each time and never actually talked to a human being. She finally received an answer from them when she contacted them through their online portal. She went back and forth via e-mail 3 or 4 times.....Z Line wanted photos, videos, documentation, etc. All in all, it took a month before our case even made it to the warranty folks at Z Line. Once our case made it to warranty folks, it went a little faster. They sent us a thermostat and got in touch with a local repair company. Our repairman came and installed the thermostat but informed my wife he was concerned that there may be other issues, specifically the knob for selecting the cook mode. We had to pay the repairman with a personal check and Z Line finally reimbursed us for that over a month later. Fast forward to present day.....March 2024......4-ish months later....same problem. Our oven is no longer heating correctly. The max it heats to now seems to be about 150. We're done dealing with Z Line. We're going to simply pay to have this fixed out of our own pocket. If it breaks again, this thing will be in a garbage dump and we'll replace it with an actual trusted name. Dear Z Line, when you read this and try to save your reputation on here by offering apologies and ask us to contact you, save your breath. You obviously don't value your customers time, as evidenced by how many back-and-forths my wife went through getting this thing fixed the first time. Everyone else....look at all the one star reviews on this site. This many can't be an accident.

It looks nice but disappoints

We bought a zline package that included the hood fan, range and dishwasher and have used it for almost 2 years. The best is the dishwasher which performs decently but the lower kick panel continually falls off. The hood fan I use only on the highest setting and it still isn't a powerful enough draw to actually work. Now for the range; it is terrible. The main issue is the oven does not cook evenly and requires manual rotation so things don't burn at the back. The triple wall glass in the oven door had the center glass bust for no reason which required zline to send us a whole new door as a "one time customer curtesey" as we were outside our 1 year warranty. Do not buy, very poor function.

Horrible product DO NOT PURCHASE

On 02/02/2021, I purchased a Zline 30-inch stainless steel range, from Home Depot in Thornton Colorado. I paid $1,822.79 which included my military discount. On 12/28/2022, The oven stopped working, getting a hold of Zline was challenging I left Voice mail and sent email. After submitting all the information, they requested photos, receipt and a detailed explanation of what I experienced, they sent me out replacement parts, heating element and a wiring harness. While I was replacing the parts it was apparent why this product failed. The wiring harness is not insulated and is attached to the back of the stove which is heated when you are running the oven. After installing the heating element and wiring harness the oven started to work once again. On 11/07/2023, The oven once again stopped working, after several emails and voice mails, I spoke with a gentlemen form Zline who told me the wiring harness and heating element have been upgraded and this should resolve your range issue. On 11/14/2023, I received the replacement parts, new heating element and wiring harness, which appeared to be the same product I received in December of 2022. On 11/15/2023, I spoke with Sandy Zline customer service representative, I explained my experience in detail and how I was not pleased with this product. She told me she spoke with her supervisor / lead and was told to replace the heating element and wiring harness and If I have any problems, I could contact them again. I responded that's it. Sandy responded, "THAT'S IT." So, two years and nine months later I was the owner of a 30-inch Zline range for $1822.79 dollars, divided by 33 months of ownership equals $55.23 dollars a month. I have heard of planned obsolescence but come on, as a consumer I try to purchase a product with good reviews, that you hope will last.

RUN DONT WALK

We've only had these in our new home since the middle of July 2023....RUN DONT WALK. We did all the research and read all the glowing reviews and purchased a whole kitchen of appliances. The refrigerator came DOA, we went 2 weeks without a refrigerator until the new DAMAGED refrigerator arrived only to figure out while waiting for the replacement skins to arrive that the flap that seals the french does did not work properly so we had to manually close this everytime we opened the doors. The first range hood arrived damaged also, they sent us a new one, DOA!! while waiting for the new one to arrive, the hood began working, so we sent the new one unopened back, big mistake, intermittently the hood would not work. You have to get eveything on video for anything to be approved, so I had to start videoing everytime I wanted to use the hood, finally caught it, sent it in only to be told I should check all of the connections, they finally have agreed to send a new hood since this has been a problem from the beginning. Next, one of the ignitors on the range quit working, did get that fixed. The dishwasher is completely worthless, I have to hand dry everything including the interior of the washer itself or the standing water begins to make the machine smell funky, everything about the dishwasher is crap, flimsy and a terrible layout on top of it, my kitchen aid was far superior. Dare I say the only thing that hasn't had a problem is the microwave drawer. The customer service is terrible, when you go on line you have to fill out a form that asks for information that the retailer you bought it from would have, ie, shipping address, tracking info etc, so I had to jump through those hoops too. Due to how customer service is, entering takes a minimum of 2 weeks, I hope you look elsewhere, this has been a huge disappointment in our new home, I'm guessing the longevity won't be there either, I'll give them 3 year

Buyer Beware!

We went with this range expecting a higher quality appliance. We would have been better off with a cheaper range, even if we had to buy 3. The cooktop is fine. The oven is terrible. It does not cook evenly. High Bake burns the exterior before it cooks the item (their response...the manual is wrong,

Not a top quality product

After 18 months of use I am very disappointed in the Z-line 30 in dual fuel stove I purchased. I begged my husband for this stove! Wanted dual fuel for better cooking results, but the stove has not lived up to the reviews and/or my expectations. We can a lot in summer and I like to bake in winter. The stainless steel top of the stove - even the little shelf behind the burners - is scratched up terribly ,especially where the grates sit and meet the frame and the front. The enamel burner top has spots on it and I clean it after each use using Bar Keepers Friend ( which I use for my Calphalon cookware.) The grates are very heavy which is great for canning just not for keeping them clean, nothing seems to take the grease off. The oven fan is very noisy and it runs continually until oven off temp down even tho it is not on convection setting. The oven does not keep temp constant, have even had thermostat replaced. The back bakes hotter than the front- hard on baking cookies and breads! The oven door has vents on top that allow liquids to drip down into door glass and also leave alot of got air out. Have to take whole door apart to clean interior of door glass. Not fun! The seam along all 4 sides of the enamel top allows for crumbs to collect and getting them out is hard . I have even used compressed air to force the debris out and toothpicks to clean out. Exasperating to say the least, especially if a boil over has wetted the debris. The dual power burner flame spreader is difficult to put back in place - a service rep just told me about the little notch that makes it easy nothing in manual about that.
