Great product at an affordable price!
We needed a new range and did extensive research before purchasing this ZLINE product. The range looks great and appears to be well made, the knobs are metal, and we like the gliding racks inside the oven. This range is not digital, and we are pleased with it; we discovered over the years that too many electronic and computer components can be very frustrating as they either get damaged or don’t work correctly. The door comes in a separate package, but the installation is straightforward; they also send you metal covers for the legs, but they don’t look good, so we opted not to use them. Ensure the top burners and covers are installed correctly; I had to wiggle them around until I had them in their intended position. Otherwise, the flame would not burn properly. Overall, we are pleased with this product. The delivery team was very professional; ask them to help you get the legs in since they need to be screwed in from the bottom of the range.
Great Range: Beautiful, Powerful, Tough, Refined & Efficient
This range looks great and performs wonderfully. We have been using it for over a couple years now and it still looks great.
Looks nice but doesn’t work
Purchased in Sept 2020 and installed in November. Looks great from the outside but never really worked well and have recently decided to look for something else and just junk it. Gas Stove top burners all work well and no issues there. It’s the oven that leaks an enormous amount of heat. The oven door doesn’t seem to close right and heat leaks out. We tried changing the oven door gasket and that didn’t do anything. We ordered new door hinges and that didn’t work. They sent us a new door and that didn’t work. Customer service actually sent us a brand new oven within a year so that was a positive experience. The problems with the new oven were exactly the same. Way too much heat leaking from the front of the oven. Takes forever to pre heat and has a hard time keeping high temp, probably due to the heat escaping. You have to constantly move food around in the oven or it will burn in the back. Also, the pre heat indicator light stopped working after about one year. We are planning to move on from Zline and try something else. Didn’t last even four years. Customer Service did try and was responsive but the product is just not good.
No more Kucht - replacing with Zline
I will write back again after I receive the new range. We are replacing our Kucht 36' stainless that we bought only 6 years ago as we have only had problems with it and their customer service is the worst. I have had thier managers hang up on me. The burners constantly click and the range igniter breaks every year along with the oven heating elements. It's hard to spend this kind of money again, but the annoyance of the Kucht is too much. I have replaced about every part possible and adjusted every part possible and have had techs come out. no one can get it working correctly. We cook a lot and are extremely hopeful this is the right one for us. more to come.......
Big hidden flaws
I did my research, checked out various pro-style ranges and settled on Z-Line. I’d give this range 5 stars as it has heavy grates, the gas can be regulated to a tiny simmer flame, no electronics to go wrong. However that also means no clocks/timers and no self cleaning. The oven shelves slide like a dream. All the dials are large and easy to turn.
If you are looking for an oven to cook with, skip
This is a beautiful unit but if you intend to cook on it, this is a skip. The oven takes an hour to preheat to 350 and doesn’t maintain that heat. To use the oven at all, the timer has to be turned on and if it runs out during cooking, which happens due to the preheating time, the oven shuts off. It leaks an unreasonable amount of heat into the kitchen. And that’s just the oven. The burners are too hot. Simmer is nonexistent and cooking anything gently is impossible. We also have a drawer microwave oven that has worn the enamel off where the slides make contact with the walls. Cooking anything now results in sparking due to the exposed metal. We have had these products only 1 1/2 years and suffered through one replacement and one repair with no solutions. After my holiday meals and baking were ruined this year, I am done.
I’m a neat freak, and keeping this stove clean is nearly impossible. After the first couple uses, marks on both the burners and stovetop are now permanent. From normal use. Also, the oven takes FOREVER to preheat, and seems to heat up the whole kitchen at the same time. Wish I had made a better choice.
Sexy Oven
I love this oven. It is the centerpiece of our kitchen. I was impressed with the care in which it was delivered. It cleans up nicely. Just like any stainless steel it will get smudges but they come off easily. There are two seams that can catch food/dust on the top, but there are ways to clean those. We have platinum-colored cabinets and black handles. You do have to make adjustments to the elements so the fire comes out and turns down to the levels you desire. We didn't do this at first and were complaining about it always running hot. When I reviewed the instructions, I realized we needed to tweak it. The directions are pretty clear and it is easy to do.
Basic mechanics not working
Special order oven with gas range and electric oven. Oven was delivered(twice, 1st one glass door shattered), and I had to set up, which wasn't too difficult. Unit lighter than replacement oven, which was nice to lift but concerns with legs which needed to be adjusted to level off and if they will stay at desired position since they turned easily. Problems occurred on 1st use. Oven heated but didn't stay at set temperature. It would take adjustments to temperature knob to get the heating elements to re-engage. Bought an oven thermometer to verify temperature which showed below set temp. Contacted zline for warranty work which took a lot of jumping through hoops and a lot of long phone wait times (3-4 hours) and when short wait times getting disconnected when told you are next in line.
Good Initiative Bad Judgement
Bought all ZLine appliances when we built a new house. Moved in about 18 months ago and have not had much chance to use the oven due to this is our 2nd home.
[Rewarded Review] Beware of this product
We wanted to like this stove. It looked professional. We acquired it in July 2022. But it has been a constant disappointment from the moment we got it.
