I was so excited to buy this beautiful dual fuel 48 range. It was delivered 2 years ago and installed in our new build 18 months ago. I am so disappointed in how the electric oven works, and as of a week ago, the larger oven will not heat over 200 degrees. I bake every few days and this is so upsetting. This is an expensive appliance and I would expect it to last longer than 18 months!
Blew out less than 2 years after buying
I really loved this range when I bought it. I thought it was a nice looking range for our new kitchen remodel. Recently (under 2 years from purchase) the oven function stopped working all together. We had a service person come out and he found that one of the wires to the bottom coil and melted and burnt out. I looked at reviews and there are pictures from other purchasers of exactly what happened to ours. Seems like it's an actual defect with the range that they know about. Very disappointed that the system broke in such short time when it's supposed to be a higher end product. Also to echo what a couple other review said: the top burners don't have a simmer option. You'll have to get a diffuser. Also, the oven takes forever to pre heat and you don't know when it's done. I think the blue light turning off is supposed to signify it but ours doesn't go over for about an hour after turning on...... If I could do it all over again I'd spend the extra money for an actual high end stove.
Makes me miss my Jen Air
I purchased this range during Covid (delays) for new construction. It was installed this summer 2023 and is not worth the cost. Burners require constant adjustment with only one burner that still requires a diffusion plate to simmer a pot of stew. The oven is the worst. Even when using convection, it cooks unevenly requiring that baked goods be turned and shifted around during baking. Temperature cannot be calibrated. The window is foggy and cannot be fixed.
[Rewarded Review] Zline 36" leaks gas even after warranty repairs
Complaint - gas range leaks natural gas during operation causing family members sickness and imminent danger. Seeking resolution from company to repair or replace defective product.
After having this Zline range for 1.5 yers I have to say I still hate it. The range cooks so hot even on the lowest flame which we did adjust, you have to move your pots around to the smallest burner if you want a simmer, otherwise it boils like crazy. That I have learned to live with but the ovens are a different story. The small oven cooks pretty normal but the large oven is such a pain for many reasons. First, your supposed to turn it down from high bake to low bake but when you do the heat is so inconsistent that things have to baked goods have to cook 5-15 minutes longer than the recommended time and meat is worse. The oven does not stay hot enough but if you leave it on high bake the top of your food can burn. This is consistent with many other reviews I have read and yet Zline customer service acts like this is a unique problem to you and besides changing out your temperature probes, which the repairman who did this assured me this wouldn’t fix the problem because it is rarely the temperature probes, they have no other solutions and feel it’s ok that you spent over $5,000 on a oven that dosent work correctly. Therefore I do not have people over any more for large meals because it is embarrassing when your meal is planned and ready to eat and your meat is always undercooked. Hard to make a whole dinner come out at the same time when you have no idea how long the meat will take to cook. So unhappy with this product and I would never tell someone to buy it, go for the more expensive brand and have peace of mind.
[Rewarded Review] Great Value for a Luxury-Level Stove
Great stove for someone who loves to cook. The dual oven functionality is awesome. The temperature maintains relatively well (beware, watch running on the High Bake setting and only use that setting to heat up the oven to operating temperature - not for cooking). The unit is very solid and true stainless steel, so that's great to see in today's market of garbage appliances. The number of burners is excellent for making a large multi-stage meal for company. There are two complaints for this unit thus far: 1) there should be a digital temperature readout and a tone that is emitted when the unit reaches operating temperature as I don't feel relying on two small little blue lights is sufficient, 2) make the burners modular so that they can be moved to different locations. I do not want two larger burners at the front of the stove. One would be great, but not both. If the fixture size in the steel base plate cutout was the same pattern and size, then the burners could be moved around to the desired location and balanced. There may be more to this other than nozzle swaps, but I tend to think that all of the connective piping is the same size and only the orifices are different size. A little more design work and the stove could provide a much, much greater range of flexibility and this is what the customer wants. Would I buy again for the price point, probably. The "probably" will be a "definitely" if the unit goes without electrical/mechanical issues for a fair amount of time.
Faulty,serious safety issues,poor customer service
Had this installed a year ago.(1) Immediately had issues w/ the burners: the high BTU burners don't have a wide adjustment window, and the simmer burners don't adjust at all. (2)Contacted Zline, they gave me some trouble shooting advice that did not work, and asked me for video. I sent all of it & they just stopped responding to emails and phone calls. Even though under warranty, I had to pay to get the local gas company to trouble shoot. Zline just ignored us.(3)If I place a large griddle or pan across two burners, a literal wave of flame flows across the entire top of the range. The service repair man was appalled, had never seen anything like it, & recommended and FTC complaint. (4) I bought several Zline appliances and a Lowe's protection package for them (EPP). My receipt is not itemized and says EPP for 3 appliances. Because of Lowe's faulty receipt, Assurant is not honoring my EPP even though I have provided an e-receipt and a copy of my Lowe's credit card receipt. They keep asking us for the same documentation again and again, we provide it, but it appears that even they can't decipher their own documentation. Stay away from some of these Zline ranges, some of which have consumer complaints lodged against them. (5) One burner has completely stopped working, and I can't get Lowe's to service it and honor its EPP. (6) Very noisy oven with uneven heating that burns things. (7)Very sharp edges that can cut you on the sliding racks.
This is a show piece! I get so many compliments on this dual oven. The gas cooktop works amazing!! Boils water in minutes.
Sleek and elegant
We have received this ZLINE range from Premium Home Source over a month ago. I wanted to hold off with the review until I was able to say that I have used this appliance to its full potential and can honestly review the features it provides.
Sturdy, attractive, and works so well!
This is a miracle appliance! I did not think I could have a professional looking range for less than $8,000-10,000, but holy smokes this ZLINE has blown me away. A fraction of the price of my friend's commercial range, and it looks just as nice and performs like you wouldn't believe. I am so over the moon thrilled and can't wait to go home and make dinner every day. Sunday brunches and Saturday morning breakfasts are my favorite parts of the week now. I definitely recommend adding the reversible griddle- I did have to call and order it since I had trouble finding it online. Makes pancakes, tortillas, and grilling easy. I feel like an at-home professional chef, and my excitement for creating amazing food has not diminished since I added this range to my kitchen. House guests have also commented on how user friendly it is, and how easy the controls are to operate. Super solid construction. I also called customer service with installation questions, and they answered with a REAL PERSON almost immediately, and made me feel totally confident about getting this thing installed. Don't think twice- please buy this if you're on the fence. I'll sing it's praises to anybody who will listen!
