I would buy this again

I love the versatility of this set and the range of colors. This is the 3rd part of the travel /backpacking set for my daughter in law. I am including Derwent push bottom water color brushes and Frabrian Artistico Enhanced Water Color Block.

Set fits efficiently in a purse

Good starter set

I'm new to watercolor and wanted a good fast introduction. Nice assortment of colors, a few have weak pigmentation. I don't use the iridescent medium.

Gorgeous Paints

These are the most beautiful paints. The vibrancy of the colors is amazing. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this set.

Great gift!

I gave this to my partner for his birthday and he loves it! Won't stop carrying the thing around and making little sketches. very cute and useful for something to do on the go.

Waste of money

I don't like this at all. Most of the colors are grainy when they dry. They don't re-wet, when you try to re-wet them, little chunks of paint float on top of the water and won't mix in. A few are just too opaque. If I could return this, I would. Total waste of my money as I doubt I will ever use this pallet. I just don't enjoy working with it.

Just right

I bought this to use for Sketch, an online class with Connie Solera of Paint Wisdom Studio. The colors are well chosen and nicely saturated. The box is perfectly designed for on the go, not too small, not too large. I am sure I will still be using it long after class is over.

I love it and would buy it again.

I have recently been taking my sketchbook and this set and doing on site work. I am scheduled to visit Italy in a few months and I wanted something small to take with me just in case I have a few minutes to sketch/paint. It's perfect and quality is great even the unexpected little painting brush.#sweepstakes

I really like the intensity of the color/intensity of the pigment. Just perfect for occasional use and travel. The water brush is new to me, but enables you to not always having to wipe you brush down on the edge of the water jar, thus saving more water color paint. #sweepstakes

Fun compact watercolor set!

The Koi Water Colors pocket field sketch box is a handy set of paints. It's affordable and the paints have decent pigmentation. However my only critique is that some of the pigments, especially the darkest blue, tends to be a bit grainy sometimes. Even so, this does not stop me from having a fun time painting with this set and creating art. I also love that it comes with a water brush and a sponge.

Love these paints

I love these paints for doing journals. I wouldn't do a painting that I am going to sell with them, but in a closed journal they are great. I would say they are somewhere between a watercolor and gouache in coverage power which I enjoy on toned paper. Chansons toned mixed media works great with these. I would buy this product again and again. Easy to throw in a bag and go out and paint or on vacation. Glad you carry them Blick.

Vivid colors.

Vivid colors and concentrated. Four of the paints cracked and displaced from the container. It was fun to experiment and practice. I won't do a big painting with these. Too difficult to make larger puddles of paint.

Vibrant and Beautiful Silky Smooth Rich Color

I really enjoy these. While I don't know how the lightfastness performs, I feel like the paints still feel professional and are easy to work with. Definitely would recomend to new or seasoned artists. I also love their additional creative art colors. Fluorescent colors aren't dulled at all.❤

I have bought this again and again!

I have purchased at least 5 of these Koi watercolor kits as gifts! And I have one for myself - I take it on all my travels and trips. I paint watercolor postcards while I travel to mail them to family and friends. It is very compact and transportable and easy to use on the go with the waterpen! I like the set of 12 colors.

[Rewarded Review] Traveling watercolors

I am not an artist but I want to see if I can do watercolors. I like this little kit as it has the refillable brush. it's a nice sturdy set and the colors seem to be dense and vibrant. The two blues seem too similar but I am a beginner and can deal. If I want to take them on vacation, there is not a lot to cart around which I really appreciate.

Great set to get into watercolor These are higher quality paint I would put them in a prosumer category or for someone that knows how to paint.

I love these paints. The price is high for not including half pans in it. They are a bit smaller than half pans. on the positive the colors are bright and very vibrant. and I do recommend these paints to everyone wanting to get into water color. Especially someone that knows how to paint. The paints have great color to them and make your images jump out of the page.

Compact and Versatile!

These Koi Watercolor Half Pan Pocket Field Sets are fantastic for artists that like to paint in a variety of settings. The one I use is the 24 set which is perfect for holding watercolor postcards. I like the fact that the palette is removable and can either be set down or attached on the side of the paintbox. The set comes with a medium-sized waterbrush as well. Blick also carries the half-pan refills for these sets.

Watercolors pans seem to be quality, though the watercolor brush pen could be better. I suggest buying a higher quality water brush pen alongside this, or just by seperate watercolor pans. Specifically, the pen is prone to leaking out of the top, and the bristels are about par. Hope this helps :)
