Quality cage, looks great!
Love this cage! Wanting to save some money, I initially went with a Yaheetech flight cage. But you get what you pay for - the bars were wider than advertised, and even the advertised bar gap was too large for budgies, and it nearly cost my budgie his life, as he got stuck trying to escape (he got halfway through). So I did my research and settled on this cage instead - it was tough to swallow paying a bit over $100 more, but this seemed like the best deal, so I went ahead with it. Once I got it I was so happy I did! The quality difference is amazing. I feel it'll last for a really long time. There were no rust spots or paint chips or bent bars. The latch is secure, and I love the feed doors on the side. My little siblings helped put it together, we had zero problems/confusion with following the instructions. The color (hunter green) is so pretty! Most importantly, the bar gaps are safe for budgies, even young ones, and mine will be quite safe in it. Would 100% recommend!
Good cage, eventually!
Nice solid cage but, it may have been damaged in shipping because many of the panels were bent and I needed to bend them back in place. That made some of the panels difficult to align and get the screws started. I have all the tools needed to remedy the problems including real allen wrenches and thankfully allen bits for the drill. I also have pipe clamps and a few others that made the job possible for one person to handle. The ones they give (2) are really poor quality and round over very fast. The directions are also minimal and are on a 6x9" sheet of paper so not easy to see or read. Other than those problems the cage is sturdy once assembled and looks good, seems like it will last longer than the canaries, at least this pair. I would have given 5 stars if not for the issues listed.
[Rewarded Review] I would actually rate this cage a 4.5/5
For the price this cage is very good quality. I love the platinum color. The plastic tray was broken upon arrival so I called the A&E company and left a voicemail. The next day they returned my call and shipped a new tray out immediately. I’m not too crazy about the two side doors. They are a little warped and one of the wires on the door came loose. It’s not a deal breaker especially for the price point but I would have liked the side doors to be more like the front door. Another reviewed stated that the front door latch didn’t line up properly and they needed to use washers to fix it. I agree this is true. I installed small washers to make the latch line up. The directions are not very clear but I am mechanically inclined and had no trouble putting everything together fairly quickly. The holes didn’t quite line up but if I loosened the bolts and readjusted it was fine. I really had trouble with one bolt and it just spun around. I can’t take it out or tighten it. No one can tell except me. Overall I am super happy with the cage, again, at this price point the small imperfections are not a deal breaker. My two parakeets are happy but the cage looks like it needs a few more birds ... shhhhhh don’t tell the husband I’m putting a couple more in there :)
