This is our third Pioneer minisplit. Our first was put into a bunkhouse early 2021 at our cabin that I built for our grandkids. It was a 9,000 unit. Since then I installed a 12,000 in 2023 at our home and I just bought and installed the 24,000 unit for our 15x23 uninsulated sunroom. The price is a speck more than off brands and a lot less then the big name brands. They have a great warranty and a USA based support center with rapid response to questions along with providing installation videos. They allow DYI homeowner installation while most other companies require licensed contractors or warranties are voided. I am a 78 year old DIY guy and if I can install them I think most other experienced folks can do it. I did have licensed electricians install the disconnect box.

2 stars because it does heat and cool very quietly. Instructions are trash. This might not be a good unit for DIY unless you have done this before. As an example the unit calls for a 3.5" wall hole. Pioneer doesn't have a wall sleeve big enough to cover a 3.5" wall hole. I know because the wall sleeve was one of the items missing from my unit and when they sent me the replacement I called them back, explained the instructions and was told this is the o ly wall sleeve we offer. I asked about the instructions and was basically told haha ya that sucks huh. Factory flares had a groove across one of the sealing faces. I won't buy pioneer again

Electric consumption down compared to window ac

Directions were a little unclear in some places but careful evaluation figured it out.

I've had my 24,000 BTU unit running for a week. I'm amazed at how quiet both indoor and outdoor units are. I like that all fan and compressor speeds are modulated by the current cooling load for maximum efficiency. I wish that I could set the louvers to blow higher and to direct the air more to the side. As effortlessly as it's cooling I think I should have stepped down to 18,000 BTU to cool my very well insulated 1200 sq ft shop with 12 ft ceilings.

I wish I had purchased this sooner!

This unit really works well. It's exactly what I needed to keep the man cave cool. I like it cold enough to hang meat but the rest of the family likes the house at 78. Now I can escape to the cold.

Exceptional Product

Used to cool an insulated 600sf room. From 89 to set temp of 75 in less than 40 minutes! Best of all, the humidity level drop was even more noticeable.ordering was easy, delivery was great, I picked mine up at freight company where we did notice some small crease- dents on the upper case on valve manifold size but nothing internal was damaged. Install went good but the cardboard template measurements were off by about 1/2 inch(facing front unit on left side) but adjusted the bracket some and made it work. My advice to future installers, is to drill your hole and ********* the wall on right side of unit (facing front) and this should prevent the extra bending of your line set and make your install effortless.

Awesome for the price tag

Installed it yesterday which went well for the first time installing a mini split. Hardest part was trying to get the line set ran the way we wanted. Installed this unit in a 1979 double wide in southern AZ and my grandma called me this morning to say that’s the most comfortable her house has ever been. With the right tools and YouTube I think most people handy with tools could do the install.

Great installation instructions and video

I purchased this kit on sale; great value. I'm not any kind of technician, but I have tools and watched the installation video several times, read the instructions, bought a vacuum pump and gauges online. It works great! Very happy with Pioneer. Will definitely bring adding another one to an addition we built.

Send the window ac packin

It’s quiet and cold haven’t got a chance to run the heat side of the unit but the ac side is awesome. This unit replaced 3 window ac not only did it replace em it outperformed all of them together and did it in silence. My only complaint is I didn’t do it years ago.

All the pieces and parts arrived together, though getting a confirmed del date was a challenge. Apparently the major components are made in Asia so there's the slow boat thing ..

Great unit

The unit works fine. The power cable is a little on the short side when using a 16’ line set. My head did not come charged on this unit to ensure no leaks during shipping or fabrication. Thankfully it was fine. This unit did not include flare seals while my other one did. Instructions call for a 3 1/2” hole in the wall that is needed but they send a 2 1/2” collar to go around the line set. Little things that just made me take notice

Summer purchase, Sacramento/CA

Purchased this and had it installed the weekend before triple digits started in my area. Delivery was smooth, and unit arrived within 10 days of purchase. I was having other work done at my property when we decided to invest in this unit, so I had a professional do the installation and the final electrical hook ups. I had to upgrade quite a few things to accommodate the new install (electrical mainly), but it’s been one of the best purchases of my life so far. I have a 2.5 story home, and we had this installed in our living room in the single story portion of our home, roughly about 1000sf. I have a bedroom, bathroom, office, living room, and kitchen that have all been staying at a comfortable 72 for the last 2.5 weeks. When it hits triple digits again, we will drop our temp to 70 again, which the unit has no problem pushing out.

Good Unit For About 2 Years

I now have had two units in the last 4 years in my garage. It actually kept my garage cool in the Florida heat. The first one lasted 2 years and developed a leak at the outside unit. The warranty was for two years so I was out of luck on any warranty claim. So I purchased another complete unit to replace the first one. This one has a 5 year warranty. So after 2 more years this one developed a leak in the inside coil unit. They have offered to sell me a complete inside unit for 1/2 price or just the coil assembly for free. Kind of a tough decision as Freon is $60/lb at 6 lbs required plus labor to replace the coil. When it's all said and done, I'll have at least 3/4 the cost of a new complete unit invested and who knows how long the outside unit will continue to last. Not sure if I will continue with this brand or upgrade to another.

Got it installed and its working well so far. Be careful with the front cover on the indoor unit. Its very very flimsy at the hinge. Mine broke while i was trying to open it. Called poineer and they are sending me a replacemwnt front cover.

Very versatile unit. Easy to install and control

Heats and cools very well. Like the dehumidify feature and timer. Sometimes I forget to turn it off. WIFI feature is great.

Great unit so far using it for heat paired with my solar. Is it cheaper than Natural gas ? Rarely. But I also wanted to augment my home central AC.

DO NOT PURCHASE HORIBBLE WARRNTY AND RETURNS

after purchasing a defective unit i had to spend an additional $1000 to have it serviced. i was told by a rep tht they can get me over to sales to purchase another $1300 unit. looked them up on bbb and 1 they are not accredited but i am not the only one that was sent a defective unit... check ur warranty and u will see that pioneer does not stand by their products

Best money ever spent works excellent.Do yourself a favor and get this unit if you’re in Midwest cold weather states this heat pump unit uses little power and heats great.

I installed this unit on a well insulated 30x40 garage with 10’ walls. It does a very nice job keeping it comfortable even in 20 degree temperatures. It was actually cheaper to get the inverter++ model with the 300 dollar rebate from my power company they offer for th high seer rating so that is something to check into before buying. The unit is pretty easy to install, the hardest part is running the line set. I used the pioneer kit that uses the plastic inserts for bending to avoid kinks. Make sure to get the 4” wide trim kit, it will not fit in the 3” kit.
