No box

It took 3 weeks for the rod to arrive, and when it finally did (it originated from Las Vegas I believe) it was not in a box and damaged. Had to reorder it and the second one was just right, in a protected box and perfect. Maybe it was a one off shopping issue, I don’t know, but since you wanted a review, thought you should know.

fan extension

As described! No issues. Matched the fan motor in the same color.

Home Depot order was delayed--had to obtain item from another source. Regardless, item is very good quality. Down rod is threaded on both ends, a requirement of Kichler Canfield fans. This is 5th Canfield fan we installed & have never been disappointed by quality including quality of accessories.

This is not a stainless steel downrod.

Functionally, this downrod works properly. However, we bought the product to install on an outdoor ceiling fan, so stainless steel was the obvious choice. Regrettably, the downrod started rusting within a month. After 6 months the downrod was completely covered in orange rust. This house is not located on the ocean, so even a cheap grade of stainless steel should have endured the elements in this dry location.

Needed this to install a Kichler fan on a ten foot ceiling in place of the shorter one that came with the fan. Perfect fit. Easy attachment. Much better look and function in my opinion than the shorter downrod.

Close enough in color with threading

Bought this downrod to go on my Fanimation Slinger II on my lanai. As it is going outside and I live in Florida, I wanted to make sure that I got the Stainless Steel rod to combat corrosion. While not matching perfectly in color (the "Brushed Nickel" downrod has a slightly Satin finish), it does come closer to matching when compared to the Fanimation downrod. As this one costs less and is threaded for a more secure fan, I went with it as my choice. Photo has original indoor downrod in middle of both stainless steel rods.

I learned the importance of knowing ahead of time to double check the circumference of the rod needed as well as whether it needed to be threaded or not . I never realized there were so many variations of bronze either .

Great Price on this Down Rod!!

When you buy a fan it is very important to match the down rod to the specific brand of fan...if you own a Hunter down rod you will notice that it does not attach to the Kichler fan the way it would to a Hunter fan...for safety sake you should match the right down rod to the fan. and not try a "one size fits all" approach. just the right extension for our ceiling

we had a different fan originally for our family room but the electrician could not make it stop shaking with the extension rod on it. So we returned that fan and got a Kichler with this extension rod. It worked perfectly. We had the 2 foot rod for it. It was very solid and holds the fan great. No noise from it. Very happy with it!
