I was sold a refurbished unit as new
When I unboxed the unit water began leaking from the unit. When I turn it on the side to install the hoses and wiring, more water leaked from the side. Once the unit was installed, I did a test run. At the end of the cycle it would not drain. It's clear to me that the dish washer has a issue, was returned and resold as new.
Owned for 2 years and having door failure
Opening and closing the door of the dishwasher has become painfully loud after owning it for about 2 years. I expect appliances to have a longer lifespan than that - it should not be failing so early on.
Disappointed ☹️
Just bought on October 6, 2024.as a gift for my father, Went to use today and will not start, beeps 3 times. There is no issues with the door, I turned breaker on and off and nothing. Super upset . Set up appt for next week so we’ll see..
Poor Quality
Very poor quality given the cost. This unit replaced one that was the same but 5 years old. Very flimsy construction, the tabs for fastening the unit to the counter top are loose as you now bend a tab instead of screwing them to the unit.
Read options.
The operating instructions are not very clear. "Dry Boost" does not tell you if it is heated or not? It just said "faster drying". What does that mean??? What makes it faster to dry??
Not for a corner. Quiet though.
Bought it for a corner location. Doesn't work well unless it is recessed a long way. Still figuring out how to trim it out on the sides. Needs to have the door left open in order to not mildew on the inside between washes. Leaving the door open causes interference with the drawers next to the dishwasher in the corner. Not meant for a corner application.
Great dishwasher for the price!
This is a great dishwasher for the money! I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 only because it isn't quite as sturdy as the Samsung I replaced. That said--it holds a TON more dishes than the Samsung did. And it gets them much cleaner. And it's 30% than the Samsung. Win-win!
Lasted just over a year.
This is the second GE appliance that has broken within about a year. Sprayer arm melted. I ordered a new one next day shipping and it's still not shipped. This company sucks. I'll never buy another GE
Okay deal if on sale; but not worth full price
It was nice that it was on sale, but the quality of the dishwasher is definitely not on par with the full price of the unit. Does a decent job cleaning dishes, but most loads require prewashing. Dry boost does not help much with water build up
[Rewarded Review] Great Dish Washer
Works great! Glad my wife and I was able to find a good replacement over the previous dish washer. This one works really well and it's very quiet, you can barely even hear when it's running.
OK . . . just not nearly as good as the old ones.
If I could rate this against the other dishwashers today it might be different. Compared to our prior machine this one takes twice as long to do the same job. It does not clean as well as the old one. It leaves moisture lining the tub walls. We have tried all settings recommended on various sites.
Poor build quality
Overall the dishwasher works as intended, however, on month 13 of ownership we noticed a clear manufacturing defect of the top third rack. The plastic coating of the metal basket was not completely sealed and the metal began to rust significantly. This is just outside of warranty sadly. When contacting GE the only resolution was for us to purchase a part outside of warranty.
Frigidaire makes a supervisor product
I love this dishwasher, it has perfect space and is adjustable, the 3rd rack always comes clean. I can easily load this dishwasher with dishes from a family of 4 sometimes 6.
Not worth its price
Our dishwasher is less than a year old and the spring that is supposed to prevent door from freely dropping down when being opened already stopped working (not sure what's wrong with it yet, we have scheduled a service for it). In an addition to that, regardless of drying cycle there's a lot of moisture being left on the dishes and on the walls of the inner tub. The dish racks also feel very flimsy when moving them in/out of the tub and the small, very thin sheet of white synthetic insulation that wraps around the tub does not do anything useful in terms of preventing the countertop area above dishwasher from feeling hot to the touch after the drying cycle.
Good but doesnt dry as well as I thought
Clean well it just doesnt dry as well as i would've expected, even with the dry boost setting on. It's pretty quiet though. Im overall satisfied with it
omGE Quality Has Declined
My GE Dishwasher broke after four years. This was the current model of what I had. The quality has declined. The parts are all plastic and it is noticeably louder.
Happy wife happy life!
This is a great dishwasher, very thorough on the wash also very quiet. We can fit a lot of dishes in at a time which is great for our big family. The wife loved it when I brought it home. Brownie points!
Garbage from the first load
After installing the dishwasher I ran a wash cycle to clean the inside and test the function. After about a half hour the dishwasher emptied all the water out on my kitchen floor. In investigation it appears the pump separated from the dishwasher. I looked at the parts breakdown in the manual so I can describe the problem to GE first thing Monday morning. I was surprised to see how many listed parts are “no longer available “. When the dishwasher was delivered it dripped water on the kitchen floor. The manual inside had been wet and was starting to mold. I was in the backyard when my wife accepted the delivery. By the time I walked the 50 yards to the house the delivery truck had left. My wife asked about the water leaking from the box; the delivery guys said they had no idea why it was leaking water. My gut instinct told me to call the Home Depot to come get it. I should have listened to my gut.
Garbage
Our new GE dishwasher was delivered late Friday afternoon 11/1/2024. When it was delivered there was no damage to the box, but it left a trail of water into the kitchen. The delivery guys had no idea why. When I opened up the bag containing the manual, the manual looked water damaged and mold was starting. I should have called Home Depot to come pick it up, but against my better judgement I removed our old dishwasher and installed the new one Saturday morning 11/2/2024. I ran a test cycle without dishes inside to clean the interior and check for problems. Towards the end of the cycle the water pump separated from the housing and dumped an entire load of water on our kitchen floor. I should never have installed the dishwasher. I called GE for assistance but the recording said they only work dayshift, Monday through Friday. I found a parts breakdown at GE's website so I could identify the parts that separated for whomever answers the phone Monday morning. I was surprised at how many parts on the breakdown were "no longer available".
Junk
The biggest piece of junk we have ever owned. We bought this in July 2021, nothing but issues, water leaking, "that was fixed" hose issues, dishes never get cleaned the first cycle, I fought with lowes for MONTHS to get this rectified and I was given a new one. Now to my surprise haha lucky me, this new unit is now leaking, I walked into my laundry room to see water all over my brand new floors, and we found the leak from the dishwasher while the washer was filling. Every single appliance we bought was ge when we bought our house and every single one has had an issue. The fridge, the stove, the dishwasher, the washing machine, the dryer. What is going on with this company??
