AP 517

Been using the AP 517 filters in several water/ice machine/dishwasher lines for years. About 20 years now, so plenty of opportunities to reflect on this product and the quality taste of the filtered water. Will certainly buy again and recommend to others!!

CFS517 doesn't actually fit my AP500 filter head. i need the AP517 instead.

Leaks

Cartridge will not fit securely into head assembly. It leaks even after repeated attempts to install and following directions. Had changed filter before with no issues, Not this time. Can no longer use filtration system. Head possibly has issues but worked fine until attempt to change out filter cartridge.

These filters at one time were hard to locate but Zoro has made them available for us to purchase as our facilities staff uses these quite frequently to replace the fridge filters throughout our City.

Well, these are expensive. So, it was troubling to have one start leaking 3 days after installation. I checked the water pressure. No problem there, I checked the fitting. No problem there. But it leaked, a slow drop. I had bought 2 at the same time. And the second was fine. No leak (now after 1 month). So, I can only assume there was some imperfection in manufacture that caused the leak. Perhaps the seal ring was not perfect. But hard to see visually. And, as I say, an expensive failure. But, to end on a positive note: when working properly, this filter is perfectly fine. There is a good water throughput so you can fill a glass or kettle quickly. And the water tastes (and looks) fine.
