More noise than filtering

The screen type filters on this are ineffective, allowing the inside of the hood to quickly become coated with grease. I bought add-on filters for the blower, but they clogged quickly because the primary filter don't work. I'm used to commercial hoods, and I expected this to be as effective and only smaller. Grease getting past the blower becomes a fire hazard in the flue and I'm unhappy about that. Broan needs to provide effective filters for hood and blower.

Nothing good abt it

I paid 375.00 The box reads Convertible range hood what does that mean in reality? The non-duct kit is not included in the box it is sold separately!! So be aware that non-duct kit is no longer sold at Lowes or anywhere else I can find. How much is the non-duct kit? Where do you buy it? I read the kit used to be in the box but too many people threw them away... I hope someone finds this review helpful if you want a beautiful range hood and that is all it is if you cannot duct it out!

This is exactly what I was looking for our new oven.

grease leaking through the motor and out he filter

I have grease leaking through the filter on to stove. I unhooked the metal filters and there's grease in the motor fan oozing onto the filter and leaking onto the stove top. Something is wrong.

OK - but pretty expensive.

The upper SS flue fit EXACTLY my old range SS hood! Old 10-year-old hood had a failure in the switches (OFF switch stopped working and could only turn off with garage CB!) and i wanted a new range hood that fit between the shelving - not so hard to find this - but also I DID NOT want to buy another SS flue vent (for 10' high kitchen ceiling) and having to re-do the top crown molding around a different sized flue. So I spent 2 days looking at the detailed specs at most similar range hoods at big box stores locally and other on-line vendors. FINALLY, found this Broan hood that the current SS flue would fit exactly and (pretty easily) replaced with this. It looks identical, but this hood was 4-5 inches not-so-high...and this is something only I know. Good enough item - IT FIT! - and is working fine. Thanks, Lowe's.

works great

I don't know how I cooked without this before. At first, I forgot to turn it on. Once I got in the habit, a few times I didn't and noticed that I didn't breathe as well cooking as I do when it is on. It helps eliminate odors in the home. I typically only use the lowest setting unless I burn something a little. Fabulous product. Took my general contractor longer to install than he expected but worth the time.

Do not buy

Very loud hood with little suction. Lowe’s refused to return it due to the 48hrs return window and I ended up putting $400 in the trash!!

decent fan- picture in the box is misleading

Easily some of the worst installation instructions I've ever read, and the upper flue is perforated metal, not a whole metal sheet as pictured both on the box and the awful instructions. The plug only created problems with a 6" pipe and tight space in the flu - would be so simple if it was hardwired. Strange, frustrating choices, and after a very long time deciphering the incomplete instructions, a decent fan.

Loud and Lousy

I noticed it did not give a decibel level in the spec sheet and now I know why. This thing is loud! Don't plan to have a conversation in your kitchen if this is running. It also poor at it's number one job, venting air.

Love my new stove hood

Looks good, fit like a glove, like the different fan settings and lighting, keeps smell away and smoke away. A little pricey but totally worth it.

Unusable for an island or penisula cooktop.

You wouldn't know it from any part of the description or any writing on the box. but this unit cannot be mounted from the ceiling. It must be mounted on a wall. Which makes it unusable for the peninsula cooktop I bought it for.

Added crap needed

Yeah so evidently you need ANOTHER package in order for it to be ductless. Cool. Thanks-more money I need to spend after the holes are already in the wall. Now i have this useless hood while I wait for the additional crap to arrive.

Excellent Value

Looks great, bright light and strong fan. Only zonk is that it came with a plug instead of raw wiring, so you have to cut off/splice yourself. Very odd to see an exhaust fan come with a plug.
