I bought this Broan range hood to replace an identical one that quit working after about 3 years of daily use. The previous one started vibrating violently and when I removed it I found that a section of the squirrel fan had broken off which caused it to be off-balance. I couldn't find the piece that broke off and 3 years seems like a short life. It works great when it works but durability is questionable so 4 stars.

Love is hood range!

Easy to install, and looks fantastic! Really pleased with its function. The delay turn off is really thoughtful and i’m glad i decided to look for a good range with more up-to-date touch buttons!

Nice exterior but crappy innards

Looks good but very cheap innards. The squirrel cage type fan is all plastic. As a result in time it distorts due to the high temperature of the stove and when it does, it becomes unbalanced and fibrate which induces a roar at medium and high speed. So it is reasonably quiet when new, but after a year it is unendurable . It is a real shame that they would use all plastic parts for a machine subject to high temperature. Steer clear unless you use it for light cooking.

Our old range fan was broken and no replacement fans were available. So we had to go new. Did some research and found this model met our needs and was also on sale. The 3 fan speeds are not too noisy at all. So far I haven't had to go beyond the 2nd setting. Very pleased with the purchase so far.

Modern stainless hood

This is a nice looking easy to use ductless hood. I bought the charcoal filters separately and I feel it would be easier if I had known earlier which ones to purchase.

Good hood

Works well and looks great. The different fan speeds are good and the light feature is also spot on.

Nice and quiet

We purchased this range hood fan to replace a brand new Hauslane unit that was WAY too noisy. So noisy that we couldn’t use the fan, even on low speed. While that fan did look better overall, this Broan unit has a very quiet fan motor on low speed, and even the high speed setting is quieter than the other unit’s low speed. The two LED bulb light does not have a dimmer or low setting, but it’s fine for us. We’re glad we made the switch. A range hood fan isn’t much good if you can’t use it, no matter how good it looks.
