Decent range hood, awful company

I bought this range hood a year ago. The first arrived with poor construction with improperly formed panels. The second was good and it was installed and performed well.

Zline product description indicates that the Zline KE24 is powerful, yet silent, allowing to have a quiet kitchen.

Solid product good price point

I installed this for a client and was very happy with it. The blower seemed strong and it looked nice after installed. My only real complaint was that the specs, instructions and other literature from Z-line was not really product specific. It's just general stuff that more or less encompasses all the similar products that do what this does.

The range hood was shipped in a nice and sturdy packaging that although was a bit ripped during shipping but did not damage the range hood. The range hood material is nice, the chimney cover metal sheet was thick enough and the suction is quite good. Although the sound was a bit loud but understandable considering the amount of air that it has to move. I have yet to see if the grease filter works well and capture them before it sticks all over the fan system.

This is a nice looking hood, but not as great as I was expecting from this brand. Not sure if it's because I ordered from Wayfair (which shouldn't matter since it's shipped from ZLINE), but it was delivered with a dent in the top. They exchanged it, but the replacement that was delivered also had damage, as well as two missing screws. I didn't want to deal with more hassle so I used it anyway because this damage was on the back side, and I was able to take the screws from the first one. On top of this, the middle part that is adjustable comes folded in the packaging, and mine won't completely flatten. So it doesn't look as sleek as in the photos. Overall a bit disappointed.

Gorgeous addition to our kitchen

The hood fits perfectly into the theme of our 100 year old farm house. The option to add the stainless steel moulding was the perfect touch. We only have 7' ceilings so had to purchase the short ceiling kit in addition to the hood. We went with the recirculating option and while it does a good job we mY end up doing a direct vent as we can still set off the smoke detector! It's not a quiet fan by any means but it is great quality for a very reasonable price.

Beautiful and simple and not too difficult to mount ourselves. The lights are a nice color, not too stark or bright, and it seems to have quite a strong fan, although we have not yet cooked with it. HOWEVER, there are some issues with the components. The two lights swivel slightly, a nice feature that allows you to point them a bit away from your face and towards the back burners. But one of the 2 lights only swivels in 1 direction. Also, there are 2 pretty screws with a large, modern head of stainless steel that keep the filters in place. However, our hood only came with 1 screw, so we had to improvise with another one that does not look as pretty and it is quite uneven looking.

I bought this to go with the ZLINE hood I purchased from Best Buy. It looks great and matches with the crown moulding of the rest of the kitchen and also lessens the light that passes through the top of the hood giving it a completed look.

I did the installation myself so my viewpoint will be a little different from those that had it installed. Quality is about average to above average depending on what you are looking at. Buttons feel nice and the display is easy to read. The direction of the lights can be adjusted which is nice but I would prefer brighter. Blower is not quiet even at the lowest setting. Repeat not quiet so if that is important to you I would keep on looking. Course that is a personal observation and varies. Our unit has the blower motor in the cabinet above the cook top so ours is as quiet as it is going to be for the standard unit. We are running it recirculating for now and both filters have gaps in the carbon where untreated air can escape back into the room. Have seen this complaint before for Zline and plan to try to retrofit another brand that has better quality control/design of the carbon layer. Contacted their customer service because the grills did not match the pictures. They had changed the design but not updated the pics and when I said this was important to us (seemed easier to install with weak hands) they were able to send us the original ones quickly at no charge to us so high marks there. Just checked and six months later and they haven't corrected the pictures or maybe they decided to go back to the original version. Would we buy this again. Maybe. If the other units in this price range had the same noise rating than yes but if I could find a quieter unit of the same clean design and quality I would purchase that. Hope this helps.

I bought this item as 750 CFM!! Its the only item I bought from Wayfair so I never logged in there. Now I logged in to buy something else and when I checked My Orders (after few months), I found that the description of this item has changed to 400 CFM!!!!

The hood vent I purchased was a sub par produce that I ended up having to replace. The bigger issue I had with Zline was their customer service. Absolutely horrible. Fought with them for over two months on replacing the vent. They would not accept responsibility for their product. I sent in photos and a video and they were trying to say it was an installation issue. An installation issue???. There are two bolts and you pug it in. I have been a contract for almost 35 years now and know how to install hoods (much, much more complicated ones). This is the first review I have ever wrote so that should also tell my feeling on their products. Go with another company.

The specification is misleading saying that it will cover most 8-9 ft ceiling. The standard chimney is 16" x 2 which will not cover 9" ceiling. Upon contacting customer services, their excuse is that you should have researched it. They are the most expensive chimney extension so consider the cost if you are comparing. It is almost a trap. Also, their claim of quite (52bd at max speed) is smoke in the mirror. The suction power is very poor. At 760 SCFM, I see smoke in the kitchen. This product spec is totally misleading the reviews are not credible. DO NOT BUY for 9' ceiling as it will cost you more than any comparable, DO NOT BUY if you are looking for good suction power, DO NOT BUY considering low dB.

Very good overall

After using our new range hood for a few weeks, we can say that so far we are quite pleased. The styling of the KE-36-400, even though modern, does blend well with our slightly more traditional kitchen. The fan is quiet, especially on the lower settings, and we find that we rarely need the highest setting anyway. The lower settings eliminate odors just fine if we run it during the actual cooking, even fish odors! The lights are awesome, and we love that you can adjust the angle, although a wonderful improvement would be to have the adjust brightness as well (for a night light setting). Overall, a terrific product!

Great Product! A little difficult to install.

I bought this range hood to go above my range in place of a prior microwave. This ZLINE hood looks GREAT. I really like the style and especially the recirculating feature which allowed me to install the hood without the need to externally vent. The hood itself was great quality. My only negative feedback is regarding the installation process which wasn't exactly clear. The hood came with a very nice instruction booklet - but the booklet didn't address my specific type of range hood and left several steps vague. If I hadn't been handy, it would have been very difficult for me to install this product. But in the end, I managed the install in about 4-5 hours time and the end result looks great!

My feelings are split on this range hood. The range itself looks great and functions well but the quality of materials and workmanship is poor. The first unit we ordered for our kitchen remodel came in an undamaged and well-packed box but the sheet metal on the right side of the range hood was mangled and bent as if it were just packaged that way. Home Depot allowed me to return and repurchase a new one. Before leaving the store with the 2nd unit, we inspected the range hood for any defects on the front, bottom, and sides – all looked good. Again, the box was in great shape and the product was well-packaged. However, when I got home to have the installers mount the hood, we noticed bent sheet metal again but on the back side this time. Since it was not visible and I just wanted this project done, we mounted the unit. I don't know where the breakdown in quality comes, but I wouldn't order another one of these units again in the future. It's too bad because it's a great looking unit.

Looks good, but a few concerns.

I've had this installed for about 2 months now, and the one upshot is that the design fit exactly what I was looking for at a price that didn't break the bank.
