Quality Range Hood

Very well made. Pretty easy install. Noisier than expected. Chimney included is for taller than 8' ceiling if you are doing non vented install. When installed at 30" counter clearance, chimney exhaust vents will be covered by lower chimney section. I installed mine at 28" and vents are still partially blocked. Need low chimney kit at additional expense.

This fan is loud even on the first setting.

This is our first wall mount fan and it is beautiful, however we are shocked at how loud it is. Ive read many reviews here saying it is a very quiet fan. Would there be another reason as to why so loud? Is there an option to switch out the motor to a more quiet fan? Not happy with our purchase.

I was do disappointed when I open the box to see there was no hardware to install the hood. Reached out to the manufacturer and still no assistance. I returned to HomeDepot for refund and waiting on money to be returned on my card. I want to reorder but not sure I should. Was excited to add to my newly remodeled kitchen. Still no good at this time! DISAPPOINTED ?

Defective and Damaged

We bought this last September on a sale for our home remodel. It arrived on time and I examined the package for damage. The exterior of the package was fine so I knew the shipper did their job. When I looked inside the box, everything appeared to be ok so I did not feel that I had to pull it out and examine it with a fine tooth comb. I closed up the box and stored the package in a safe spot while we waited to finish the remodel. Fast forward 3 months, I pulled the unit from the box to measure and mock up the unit for the vent installation, and discovered a dent on the exterior. We decided to test the unit for noise and general operation and when we turned it on, the blower motor shook and rattled the unit like it is unbalanced. Waiting on ZLine to step up and resolve this issue.

Gorgeous addition to our kitchen

The hood fits perfectly into the theme of our 100 year old farm house. The option to add the stainless steel moulding was the perfect touch. We only have 7' ceilings so had to purchase the short ceiling kit in addition to the hood. We went with the recirculating option and while it does a good job we mY end up doing a direct vent as we can still set off the smoke detector! It's not a quiet fan by any means but it is great quality for a very reasonable price.

[Rewarded Review] Almost Perfect

The range hood looks great! Looks awesome for the price. The stainless can be a little difficult to clean after install but not a big deal. The programming to the buttons seems to be off. The fourth speed button runs the fan slower than at the second speed which is weird. Other than that it works great. The LED lights are super bright and adjustable. Would recommend for the price.

Fan stopped after 30 days

The look of this hood is beautiful unfortunately after 30 days my fan is making a loud noise and sound like the motor is struggling. I ordered it early for a full home rehab and at first was like the fan loud but don't suck up nothing. So I kinda stop using it. Today doing my Sunday dinner and its clinking and sound like its about to blow up. Omg what a waste of money. I'm so disappointed. I recently retired and took a chunk of my 401k to have a beautiful kitchen and now my money gone and this hood don't work... buyers beware

Extremely Loud and Annoying

We bought the range 1st week of August and received it in about a week. Just finished installing and it is really loud even on the lowest setting. On level 4, its just unbelievable. Ran the fan for about 5 - 10 mins hoping that the noise would subside and it did not. Wife is so annoyed that she does not want to use the range at all. To add to it, the vibration level of the hood can be felt on the kitchen cabinets and also the counter top. This cannot be normal at all. We paid a contractor $450 to get the range installed and vent it outside and its all waste of money. Stay away from this product if you can.

Customer service at Zline was very knowledgeable and helpful in selectiing the best model for my application. Ordered online from Premium Home Source and received the item well before the promised date. The shipping carton was extremely sturdy, frankly the best I have ever seen. The enclosed instructions clearly showed elevations to facilitate installation of in wall blocking and electrical. The hood is currently in service but awaiting backsplash completion to install ceiling trim kit. The Zline hood design is simple but elegant, the exhaust flow is much better than the previous over the range microwave and quieter as well, even in the highest setting.The stainless is a high quality and matches my other built in aplliances quite nicely. The LED lighting is bright and illuminates the cooktop well, the stainless filters remove and reinstall easily. I have not installed the ceiling trim kit yet but it will hide any imperfections in the ceiling cutout. In my case I had to shift the hood centerline after initial installation to accomodate the corner cabinet door swing and shift the adjoining wall cabinet to match symetrically. Simple but elegant design, strong exhaust airflow, quiet, good cook surface lighting, recommend trim kit. In service for a week.

Great for the cost

My contractor said it wasn’t really all that easy to install. If I hadn’t ordered the crown molding , he said there would have been a gap that he would of had to creatively fix. I got the recirculating air type. However, for the very reasonable cost ,we are satisfied with it. I didn’t need a super high powered pro fan so this was even better than what I had before, and I rarely,used that . The only downside I’d say is it’s hi shine and shows fingerprints. It’s quiet unless you get up to level 4 but I’d expect that. Overall, I’m quite,satisfied.

Beautiful!

I bought this over a month ago and finally installed it and had a friend do the duct work. In my 1931 house, the stove is in the middle of the kitchen so the ducting had to go from the ceiling, down into the basement and across the room to the outside wall. We bought a blower fan to help move the air out only we didnt end up needing it. The fan works so well it has the power all on it's own. I read some people think these fans are loud, they're not. It's way quieter than expected and so beautiful, I bought the crown molding to top if off and i love it! I posted a couple pics (I havent painted yet so dont mind the bare wall)

Very good overall

After using our new range hood for a few weeks, we can say that so far we are quite pleased. The styling of the KE-36-400, even though modern, does blend well with our slightly more traditional kitchen. The fan is quiet, especially on the lower settings, and we find that we rarely need the highest setting anyway. The lower settings eliminate odors just fine if we run it during the actual cooking, even fish odors! The lights are awesome, and we love that you can adjust the angle, although a wonderful improvement would be to have the adjust brightness as well (for a night light setting). Overall, a terrific product!

Great Value for the price

Hood does a very good job of exhausting cooking fumes over a 30” range. Install was not too difficult, but will require a plug. I had a direct wire hood before, so a bit of electrical required to add a plug. Only two holes to mount to the wall, so I hope you find a stud. The hood is heavy, and I didnt trust drywall anchors. The screws it comes with are soft and cheap, and stripped out. I used my own. I screwed into one stud and used a butterfly anchor for the other hole. Also drilled screwed in through the inside of the hood to ensure it is attached securely. Comes with a 6” plastic flex duct (approx 6 ft. long) so that was great! Had to buy a 7” to 6” reducer to attach to my existing vent duct in the attic. Also needed foil tape for duct connections. The top part attaches with 4 screws and fit my 9’ ceilings. If you have higher than 9’, you will need an extension. The protective plastic on the metal left residue that i buffed off with denatured alcohol. I’m satisfied and feel the heavy stainless steel is excellent for the $$$.

Function and Beauty

I bought this (KF2-36) range hood several months before my house was completed enough to install, but I didn't want to chance it selling out. It was delivered quickly and in perfect condition There is a plastic lining adhered to the stainless steel finish to protect it from scratches and it is packed in styrofoam to prevent dents. All the hardware needed to install is included, and everything goes together well. I chose this model because of the four CFM settings. It has enough power to vent anything I can cook up. The lights are bright and pool over the stove top. I do wish there were two light settings instead of one, but this is minor. The range hood operates well and is surprisingly quiet. The best part is that it looks beautiful while it functions flawlessly.

Looks good, but a few concerns.

I've had this installed for about 2 months now, and the one upshot is that the design fit exactly what I was looking for at a price that didn't break the bank.
