Samsung Range Hood is Great!!!

I have to start by saying that installer Michael was awesome. He installed the range hood and went through the basic operation with me, he also kept the work area clean and organized as he worked.

Love that this goes great with all of our Samsung kitchen appliances, great ventilation, lighting and easy to clean. Unfortunately the Bluetooth doesn’t connect and it doesn’t have the Samsung smart connection to make it more convenient and efficient for our new smart home.

[Rewarded Review] Awful Customer Service Experience

I am writing this review to recap this entire experience to hopefully shed some light on how customers are being treated during this holiday. I ordered this hood on 11/17/2023 and my wife runs a baking business from our home. On 12/1/23 the expected delivery date, the best buy/delivery team called me say they brought my hood into the wrong house for install, opened and dropped the hood and broke it. They told me there was nothing I could do and needed to wait to hear from customer service. The next day customer service called and apologized for the concern shared with me they promised they could have it delivered and installed by 12/8 as again I was concerned for my wife's work. They assured me they would have it installed. On 12/8 I log into my best buy account and they have now cancelled my delivery and moved the date to 1/9/24 without informing me. I called customer service as this would not work after speaking with someone for an hour they shared they can have it done 12/28/23 and that they would escalate to the warehouse but I would need to chat back in in 24/48 hours to get an update. So today I chat in, I'm being told nothing can be done. The first representative told me they can move it up to 1/2/23 and the second rep said this is now not possible so I'm subject to just waiting till 1/10/24. I acknowledge that I am just another customer to them and that this entire comment wont mean anything to anyone at this company but wanted to just share it with other customers my experience.

Fine product, bad advertising

Another case of bad advertising, coupled with bad information from samsung.

Good, but...

Installed Jan 2020. At original install, service had to come out and repair connectors for LED Lights. Jan 2023, lights were extremely dim and took several seconds to fade out when turned off. Repairman just left and $600 later, two LED lights were replaced. For another $400, could have replaced the entire unit. While the unit has worked very well extracting smells/odors and paired well with the BT Cook-top, MORE than 50% of original cost to replace lights just isn't right.

[Rewarded Review] DOESN'T WORK W/ SMARTHINGS!

Extremely disappointed. This does not work with Smarthings unless it is connected to a range through bluetooth, it doesn't have wifi!!!!! As far as I can tell only Samsung cooktops have bluetooth and none of their ranges have it so this is a completely useless feature for ranges. Don't buy if you are range shopping and I just bought a brand new Samsung range and it doesn't work with it. I'm angry and feel duped, want to return it. I have all Samsung products in my home and this is the first time I feel disappointed in how this product is advertised.

Great Product!

We bought this unit in October 2019 for our condo in Portland, Oregon. It has great build quality. It looks goods. Good color. Works great. The tones you hear when pushing the buttons are subtle and pleasant sounding! That’s a big deal. The lights are perfect. We are very happy with this unit. We just moved to Atlanta, Georgia and we are about to buy the same under cabinet hood for our new home. We did not even think twice about it. [Rewarded Review] Everything I needed and more

This range hood throws mad air, if yours doesn't it's installed wrong. Did it myself and I saw a few things that would cause someone who doesn't know to neglect making the necessary adjustments to accommodate this. Additionally if you read the booklet it shows the steps to activate boost so read it. My only complaint is Samsung should test these before shipping because the light was wired wrong and didn't work so I was easily able to figure it out. Saved me a service call. People say it's noisy but if you're gonna move that much air it comes with some noise but it isn't deafening like my previous one. The rear vent didn't line up with the existing hole through the back so it was easier for me to vent it from the top through the cabinet. It's very very pricey but we'll worth it, wish I had bought it the first time I saw it because I would've saved about $300. Yes $300.

[Rewarded Review] Looks sleek and moder; great venting power

I wasn't too sure when my wife wanted to get this range hood, but I must admit that it is very good-looking and really makes a difference by venting the air while cooking. We also purchased a new Samsung range, and it looks great with it. We did not opt for a bluetooth-enabled range, so I cannot comment on that ability. Overall I highly recommend it due to the powerful venting.

the product does not connect to my brand new samsung range. this was not clear at the time of purchase nor during the kitchen remodel. i do not understand how a $2100 range with wifi technology and $1100 hood cannot connect.

The hood does well with removing smells such as fried food and broiled meats. It vacuums up the smoke instead of fanning it into the room. The light from the hood is nice and bright.

Does not sync Samsung Smart range!

the description of this product is very misleading. i was sold a samsung range with this hood and assured it was the most advanced range available (nx60t8751ss. only to find out after installation that it is not compatible with this hood. a samsung chat rep even confirmed their most advanced range is not compatible with this hood because it lacks bluetooth. what a joke. the website also says to check the manual for compatibility. no such list exists in the manual.

Was Expecting Better

I am a professional chef and I recently purchased the Samsung 30 inch gas range because of the bigger burner and wok attachment. I also purchased this hood because of the "boost" power thinking that it could handle cooking with a wok, since they are both products developed by Samsung and in the same family. I installed the hood 27 inches from the cooking surface as recommended and vented it straight up 6 feet to the roof using a 6 inch pipe. Last night was my first experience using it to it's full capacity and it failed. The "boost" mode does not seem to be anymore powerful than the high mode. Cooking on the wok burner set on high totally smoked the house out. It would seem to me if Samsung is making/selling a product with certain features that their comparable matching equipment would be able to handle the task. Why sell a stove with a wok feature with no recommendations as how to use or if their hood system is compatible with it? So I just spent a thousand dollars on a piece of equipment I now have to come up with a way to modify the hood structurally to help with exhaust, instead of my thousand dollar piece of equipment performing as it should? My recommendations would be (1) to put the wok burner in the middle of the stove (2) make the hood longer so that the vents extend over the cooking area.

We got the hood or our Gas range (also from Samsung). We used the rear vent to connect to an external exhaust outlet. Even at the "low" speed setting it is quite powerful - with the external vent flap opening half-way. At the "high" speed setting it really packs (throws) a punch!
