expensive trash
purchased and installed sink, found very hard to keep clean; as far as water spots. directions to keep clean say to dry of with towel on every use ( unrealistic expectations ) . even with protective mats, scratches very easy. after a few months use we had rust pitting accuring.
I LOVE this sink - say goodbye to the inferior stainless that today's sinks have - this is 16 gauge -(yes it matters) and slightly brushed with the curved corners(that yes you can rinse). I love the shape and size of each side. The depth on the bigger side is great for all items and the smaller is still adequate even though slightly shallower! I had ordered a BLANCO sink and had the good fortune to have it temporarily placed in the kitchen since countertops were delayed - it was HORRIBLE- spotted if you looked at it and didn't rinse out well sounded like a tin can! I returned it to another company and had found this one at HD that I could try before installing. That is the bad thing about undermount sinks - u can't return even though they have a "warranty". Company doesn't pay for the plumber besides trying to REMOVE! No it isn't the sleek design but I am not going to wipe down my sink after EVERY water spot. However people still comment how nice it is because of the offset shape. So happy I was able to try in advance.
Great selection of kitchen sinks and accessories.
Found just what I was looking for in new sink in 16 gauge ss. Great selection and quality products if you’re looking for sinks, faucets etc… I purchased a high end sink at a fair price. It arrived on time and very well packaged. The big box stores just don’t offer the variety and quality that you find here.
When the sink came everything was packaged beautifully and I loved the look of it especially after it was installed. But than after using it I find that the water will not run off. Looks awful, instructions say to "just wipe dry every time it is used", well, that's a lot of times a day and no matter how much I clean it, it never looks fully clean or shiny. Now I’m stuck with a sink I don’t like as it is installed under mount and would be costly to have the quartz countertop pulled and another sink installed. So disappointed. If the company can help me in any way with suggestions on cleaning it, it would be much appreciated.

I've used this sink for only couple months now, I replaced rusting 10 year old sink, so picked this one after reading description and reviews, it's too early to tell how good this product is to protect from rusting, I rated 'average' for this sink being hard to keep it clean, perhaps due to the micro-shield, it's not smooth stainless steal, it shows water marks every time it's used, and it's not practical to wipe the sink water free every time it's used, a good stainless steal sink runs the water drops down, don't have to wipe the water drops after used and rinsed. The plumber and the sink cost is not small amount. I will not buy this again.
Our Kraus 60/40 double sink was installed on March 24th and so far so good! It took a few weeks to get used to the interior surface, we were used to smooth but we love it now. The depth is good and we especially love the drainer that can stay in place but just pish it down to fill the sink with water. Love the look of tje 2 drainers but we removed them for now. We cook and use the sink a lot. We alos love the microfiber cloth to quickly dry the sink at end of the day. P.S. Our plumber was quite impressed by this sink.
Beautiful sink but rusts
Beautiful sink and large enough for my kitchen however after about two weeks of use I already see small rust spots. It is unreasonable to expect that the sink will be wiped off dry after every use by everyone in our family. But I do wipe it off and buff it with microfiber cloth every evening before leaving the kitchen for the night. They claim it's made of 304 stainless steel - I read that following good steelmaking practices, this steel is supposed to be non-magnetic; I tested mine and the magnet sticks to it - something I wish I knew about before having it installed. I am going to attempt to remove rust but I don't have high hopes that it will not reappear. I bough it from build.com.
Love my new sink and faucet set!
I like the smaller size sink (I previously had a 3-bowl sink), and racks. My old disposal works in it (with a new gasket kit) and is noticeably quieter, due to the sink soundproofing.
Somewhat satisfied
Remodel on a kitchen and powder room, I researched every appliance, faucet, sink, lights, etc. For the Krauss sink, I am very pleased with the depth and size of the sink, love the different style finish. It is not a smooth flat finish, but rather a type of a diamond cut finish. I am concerned though because I believe the spaces between these diamond cuts holds odors. Every three to four weeks I have to gently scrub the sink with Weiman stainless steel cleaner to kill the odors. There are only two people in my household, so the sink is used mainly at dinner and weekends.
Exceeded Expectations
I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before committing to the purchase of this product. I like that it is constructed from 16 gauge stainless steel when most of the competition uses 18 gauge ( as the number gets smaller numerically the thickness increases) so that was a deciding factor in selection. Also the removable strainer basket keeps larger bits from entering the drain and is easy to empty and clean. Finally the raised drainer rack allows for air circulation around items placed on it to drain or dry. The MicroShield finish is a nice alternative to the more common brushed finish and only time and use will determine whether it will retain its intended functionality.
BEST BUY THIS SINK
I first bought a sink that was in the store a lowe's after opening and having the faucet installed about to use putty to install peeled off the blue plastic wrap off and notice the finish on that sink was very rough and seemed not finished so glad this happened and caused me to research and find this sink I ordered on a Saturday very late night and it was here on that Monday. I have no idea why Lowes would not stock these instead of the one I returned and even stated that when I returned the other sink. This is sooo much better total sound proofed with the two drains one deep with a removable strainer and a rag plus a big sack around the whole sink which I will be using to cover my 26 gallon stand up air compressor when not in use It was shipped in a heavy duty box too. I recommend this sink we replaced our 6 inch deep sink this deep sink drains great I was worried about a deep sink not draining well I also got the 1 hp. Prestige Insinkerator garbage disposer what a team with this sink.
Kraus 25 inch Topmount Single Bowl Quality 18 guage stainless steel sink
I am please with the quality of this sink, It has Noise defend soundproofing. I use it in a laundry room as a utility sink and it is perfect. The packaging and protection used to ship the sink is beyond what many companies use. Total protection for the sink and a nasty gash in the outside box did not make it through to the protective layers inside the box and then the sink itself was in a nice bag for further protection. Wonderful job and a great product. I'm sold on KRAUS products.
4 Stars
This is a great sink for the money. It came very well packaged. I really appreciate the added value of the grids, polishing cloth, and strainer options. It is sturdy and installed without any problems. I was a little surprised when I first received the sink and the entire bowl was a dull, textured finish and I was not sure I would like it. I think I expected it to just be the bottom. It does spot easily, so it needs wiped down to avoid streaks and water marks. (I am including a photo of what I am referring to.) That said, now that it is installed and the surrounding area is finished as well, it does look nice, I just need to polish it often. The rounded corners allow all the water to completely drain, and the grids keep dishes from sitting in pools of water if left unattended, which I really like. It compliments my kitchen quite nicely. I am giving it a 4 star only because of the water marks that are hard to get rid of. I would recommend this sink.

The sink is a very high quality in construction, fit and finish. We just had the sink installed with new solid surface counter tops and it looks great.

I bought this sink at Home Depot - online - KBU23E with the MicroShield. I was very worried once seeing some questions on spots and rust! I have a month before I install my granite tops - so I just tossed the sink in the shower on a mat and gave it a nice spray down. Let it set for 30 minutes and went back to see what it looked like. RUST! It was in the bottom of the sink and on the curved edges. Looked like it formed around the MicroShield marks. I was very disappointed. I had high hopes and LOVED the sink. This is a show stopper so I'm taking it back to Home Depot. Again - the sink is amazing looking! But if you are getting one - Put it in your shower and test it! Wash it, look at how it performs over a few days before setting it in $5K of Granite where it will cost you another $1K to rip and replace later if you are not happy. I'm going with Blanco after doing research - no magnet sticks to the Blanco SS - I trust this more. I even called Kraus to tell them of my result and they did say that this happens sometimes and you can clean it off - but I'm not taking any chances. I'm lucky - I can simply box back up and return. Test before install!
[Rewarded Review] Kraus Outlast MicroShield™ stainless steal undermount sink is the perfect touch for our kitchen
When we moved into our new house, I couldn't wait to get my new Kraus Outlast MicroShield™ stainless steel undermount sink put in. The single basin makes it so much easier to do the dishes, cook, and many other projects. The undermount makes cleaning the counters a breeze and I don't have the gunk around the edge of my sink/counter anymore. Installation was easy with the supplied hardware and instructions. I also love the in-sink rack to help protect the finish. It is very good quality and the design in the stainless steel adds a great addition. You will love this sink, and how great it makes your kitchen look!
