Excellent griddle

I bought this for an outdoor kitchen built a few weeks ago. The unit is 36” so you can expect a lot of griddle space to cook on. This unit is very heavy as the quality is impeccable. The griddle itself is either 3/16 or 1/4, heavy duty. It will require a 110 volt outlet as the knobs and LED lights require electrical power. The knob turns red when the burner is on. Great feature! Lights are awesome and bright. The seasoning process will take about 45min to complete so plan ahead. I ordered the Blackstone jar of seasoning. I had the privilege to work with Matt at BBQ Generals and he was very knowledgeable and helped me through the ordering process. Recommend using them for sure.

Love the griddle. However had 10% discount that wasn’t applied. I contacted customer service, I still don’t see it.

All messed up

I ordered a black stone Grill because they said they had it in stock and would ship it out within a day or two. It took him a week or more to even ship it. Maybe. Then I got a notification that it was on its way, but the tracking showed it that it was delivered to Boston Massachusetts. I live in Michigan. So then I called and they were very good about returning my phone call, and gave me a tracking number that showed that my item was in Joliet Illinois and it would be delivered today Monday June 10th. The tracking says that is still to be delivered today but it hasn't moved from Joliet Illinois. It's 4:30 here so I'm beginning to doubt that'll be delivered today if at all. This is my first experience with barbecue General. It remains to be seen whether it will be my last.

I haven’t started yet, but I’ve used Blackstone griddles in the past and I’m very excited to have this addition to my man cave outdoor kitchen!!

Not worth the money

Unfortunately there's not much good to say about this griddle other than the griddle surface seems to heat up evenly and it has plenty of surface area for cooking, this unfortunately you could get from a basic blackstone griddle for a fraction of the cost. This griddle was difficult to research prior to purchase and took almost 20 weeks to arrive. Shipping date kept getting pushed back and all online information was very limited and still is. When it finally arrived I discovered that the cutout dimensions provided don't account for the strange hood hinges so I had to notch out the countertop to allow for the grill to sit correctly in its location and allow the hood to open. The hood is also very flimsy and flexes if you don't open it while holding the handle directly in the center. The grease trap while accessible from the front requires the removal of the griddle surface which is heavy and cumbersome and the trap itself does not fit well in its spot and was catching on the hood when opening and closing. I can also envision spilling the grease while removing it as it does not go in and out of its location easily. I used the griddle one time to season it and the electronics stopped working completely, it wont turn on or light up. The puddle lights which now are not working all have cracked lenses after one use, not sure if it was from the high heat but all lenses are cracked. I can't find any information on how to troubleshoot the electronics and the ignition is electronic so the only way to light it now is with a match because a grill lighter will not fit through the openings provided. The stainless steel construction in general is very thin gauge and minimal, there is more black steel on the body of the grill than stainless so I am questioning how long this grill will actually last, it should be much heavier gauge and solid stainless at this price point. The knobs also have a cheap feel as they are just plastic.

Gotta hand it to Blackstone, they really created an awesome product that's super easy to get started and using like a PRO! Absolutely loving my time with the griddle, highly recommend!

We are not able to review at this time as we aren’t able to use our unit…our cover was damaged in shipping and we are waiting for the warranty company to replace it.
