This item was purchased as a replacement for an older model that stopped working. We absolutely loved the old one and decided to just replace it. The new one works very well and the fit was perfect. I may have rushed through the description because it does not change colors like our old one, but decided to keep it because it was not an easy find or priced well in our range on other websites. Fortunately, color flames were not a decision make it or break it deal. Still pretty. Aesthetically pleasing. Creates romantic setting anytime.

Noisy Operation

Very dissatisfied with the noisy operation of this unit. I would not recommend this fireplace. I also don’t feel the “flames” are very realistic.

This fireplace is great. We did not recess it, but also purchased the surround that is specifically made for this fireplace. It is beautiful and together look stunning. Very easy to put together and is great whether you are using just the flame or with the heat also. Would highly recommend over the cheaper fireplaces.

We opted for the electric fireplace over a gas one, we really love it. Although the part that spins below where you put the glass pieces occasionally makes a squeaking noise, not sure why, it's not that often it does this. So, we havent said anything just yet.

Fireplace came damaged - waiting for customer service

Unfortunately this arrived with an interior piece called the semi reflective glass pane completely shattered with bits of glass and glass-dust dispersed throughout the entire unit. It absolutely cannot be used in this condition and I'm hoping that customer service comes through and replaces this unit for me so I can write a proper review about a functioning and beautiful electric fireplace for this architect's vacation home.

We designed a master bedroom suite in the basement. It is wonderfully quiet, but very cool in the winter. We purchased another model which did not satisfy our desire for recessed mounting. The contractor was there, the walls were demolished, we wanted to complete the project before the holiday and we were at a complete loss to know what to do. 1 phone call to Electric Fireplaces Direct solved our ENTIRE issue. Dreams come true.

I have always wanted a fireplace in my home. Living in Florida there is not always the need for heat and yet I love it in the winter. The electric fireplace ( heat or no heat) has always been some thing on my mind. I drew a photo of it 14 years ago and just never got around to it. Three months ago I brought out the idea again and started to do my research. Electric fireplaces direct could not have been more helpful! Every time I called they were patient and understood my questions and answered them honestly. This Fireplace exceeds my wildest expectations. The fireplace was easy to insert. Extremely easy to set up. For the heat you can hear the fan but it is not loud at all. The ambience it creates without the heat is incredible!
