Does this comply with NEC?

Sharp looking pole, and the photocell option is nice, but the Grounded Convenience Outlet does not comply with the current U.S. electrical code (NEC) section 406.9 (B) for wet locations. I would only recommend this product if the consumer removes the GCO or replaces it with a compliant GCO.

Attractive Lamp Post

This is a very attractive lamp post with the matte black finish. It’s sturdy and fit the new post light we purchased perfectly. I’m a handy person with only basic electrical knowledge. I didn’t know if I would have trouble with this, but I followed the diagram carefully and everything worked correctly the first time.

Perfect Pole in a hard to find world

Needing a yard light I looked many places for both the light and the pole. Neither are particularly common nor popular. Your pole was the only one equipped with both the photo-sensitive on - off feature and an outlet. Handy for plugging in Christmas lights, hedge trimmer, etc. Hands down, your pole was my choice. Works as I had hoped.

Traditional Lighted cottage path

The outdoor post lighting will be installed along the path leading upto our summer cottage next spring. Have installed several lanterns prior to this one. Looking forward to the improved lighting. Item was as advertised and shipped on promised date.

Too much assembly required. The electric eye and the outlet should be mounted and wired to the pole. It would be better if it was ready to connect to the power and the light on top. With all the work that has to be done it should be half the cost. The quality of the product is good.

Sturdy, well made item. my electrician did installation. Pole is a bit long but electrician made it work, positioning it inside a shrub that we didn’t want removed & I didn’t want end sawed off due to rusting , etc.. Best to have an electrician install.

Very disappointed that the electrical outlet mounting screw holes were not in the right place and I had to drill them in there proper locations. Not a big deal but for that price everything should be right.

Excellent Outdoor Post

We bought this post for security lighting in our back yard. The photo eye provides trouble free dusk to dawn lighting. It also has an outlet for all my outdoor electrical tools, and it has the ladder rest. The black finish and aluminum construction ensures us of years of maintenance free operation. We are very pleased with this post, and plan on purchasing another to replace our front yard fixture. Kudos to Progress Lighting for a job well done!
