Cheap plastic. Lamp broke off in the first storm a few weeks after purchase. Useless waste of money. Purchase a real lamp made of metal with a glass water tight globe as I did after this home depot trash failed.

I like this exterior light, that is - its design (going for a mid-cenury look), it went together easily, and the light shines downward - which is important since it doesn't interfere with my neighbor's fron patio, I would have given it 5 stars if it were made of metal, especially if made in aluminum, It's made of a resin/plastic polymer.

The top on the dock lights only twist on the top and are not secure. I have already lost one and you cannot purchase just the top. One stop Lighting is great and replaced entire light
