Attractive but Poorly Designed

I have some older post lights that needed replacement. These are attractive and decently priced so I ordered them. The engineer who designed them obviously doesn't install or maintain them, so I was disappointed by the design. Two major problems: 1) the top cap is secured by four screws that face down. To replace the lightbulb you have to remove the screws which is not easy since the are facing down. A threaded cap would have been much simpler. 2) The mounting screws to secure the base to the post are metal screws rather than machine screws. So you have to drill holes in the post to secure the screws. Not a good idea with electrical wiring in the post. If the base holes were simply threaded, you could use machine screws that press against the post - no drilling required. Dumb design!

Beautiful

I replaced an old post light with this post lantern and it is beautiful. It is nice and bright. It looks great. I love that it’s not traditional but still looks classic. It is a very nice post lantern.

Great Lamps! Cast aluminum with powder coated finish, so no rust. Glass diffusers don't turn yellow like plastic. Using these to replace old street lights in a small manufactured home park. Have installed 300 watt LED bulbs in each (also from Depot) and they work great. Have had no issues with any of them (24) and would use again.
