Not exactly like the picture.

The product picture shows a majority of the of the board pieces as wider end pieces. What they sent instead is a board where the end pieces are a majority of small end pieces a couple of longer pieces thrown in. The price and thickness is the only reason I'm given it 3 stars.

Beautiful and Better than pictured. What a great deal High End More beautiful than pictured. Shipped right from Catskill Craftsmen. Nice dark warm brown wood. Much darker than the one pictured on the left, but, not quite a dark walnut. Close though. Nearly a match to my walnut Boos block counter. Looks like each is custom made from what they have left that day. Mine has lots of tiny dark brown cubes with larger warm brown cubes. Only a handful of tan cubes. Most of the end grain cubes are all square unlike the long pieces of end grain pictured. Like individual artwork. NOT hollow underneath. It is a full block with finger grips on the side. Weights a ton and is made of solid hardwood birch. Dont be fooled by the cheap boards from Italy etc.... soft wood will never hold up like this! Buy some butcher block oil at the same time so that you can use it right away.
