i ordered this a few months ago from HD website and i started to use it as an on off switch for my commercial Coffey maker and then used it as a barker for my water pump in case of shorting out which is a good idea for all 120 volt plug in water pumps . in controlled tests i intentionally overloaded it to test is and worked to stop overloads. a Must for any application where GFCI is needed

I have bought a few yellow jacket products before, their power cords and gang box were nice quality and this is no exception. This is a great little device for those of us who operate power tools outdoors and have ever been caught in the rain. Yes, it happens. I run my tools form non GFI outlets typically and this little adapter gives you the option to instantly increase safety by turning your standard outlet to a GFI outlet. there is literally nothing to do except plug this into the receptacle and plug your toll into the adapter. No wiring, work, etc. This is a must have for anyone who works with power tools outdoors

I have an outdoor lamp post with a built in outlet and no way to swap it out for a GFCI outlet. I run a big Christmas light display and I wanted to use this power source but was concerned about it not being GFCI so this is the perfect solution. I simply plugged this into the outlet and tested it with a GFCI tester and it tripped as designed. After testing it I plugged in the Christmas light controller and I was in business. One thing to be aware of is that it trips if you cut power to it. This is not really a problem just as long as you are aware you need to reset it every time you plug it in or turn off power to it.

What a smart innovative idea. A portable GFCI, 3 prong male and female, extension cord adapter. Being rated for a 120 volt circuit and 15 amps. This is good anywhere you can plug it into a 3 prong outlet. Use it, move it, or take it with you to protect tools or appliances or whatever electrical need you have. This would be great for older homes that never had GFCI protected circuits. It has a test and reset button. In case of a fault the top button will trip, showing a red line at the back of the button, see the last picture, look closely at the back of the white button. This intended for DRY usage, so if you think it will be susceptible to high moisture, either inclose it or don't use it in that type of environment. This is a great safety device that could save you life, what's that worth. If you are not sure, read the instructions.

The Yellow Jacket Brand, 1-Outlet GFCI Extension Cord Adapter is affordable, portable, protection. I selected this GFCI to use with my portable Honda Generator that does not have built-in GFCI protection. I use my generator with all my outdoor power tools, saws, trimmers, blower, any 15-amp electric motor-powered tool or less. I would rather service and maintain one gasoline engine than multiple gasoline powered tools. Electric tools are more affordable, require less maintenance, and work reliably from season to season. The Yellow Jacket GFCI makes the perfect companion for my generator and the tools it powers.

I use an extension cord for my outside smokers, so having a GFCI Adaptor for that extension cord makes me feel a lot safer. I connected a power strip into the GFCI adaptor and then plugged the adaptor into the outdoor outlet. Now, my pellet grill is plugged directly into the power strip, while an extension cord is used to provide power my other two smokers. (I only use ONE smoker at one time, so my circuit will not be overloaded).

I was looking forward to an adapter like this that has surge protection and GFIC protection for temporary use where I don't have a GFCI circuit. However, I was disappointed that I had a difficult time trying to plug and unplug cords into this outlet. It does get very warm, even with nothing plugged into it.

This is a nice product. I used this on a regular extension cord and it worked great. This will protect you like a regular GFCI cord. It is small but easy to use when you need it. It is small and compact to fit in a tool bag so you can keep it with you on the job. The test / Reset buttons are easy to get to and can reset easily. I will be using this all the time on jobs.

The yellow jacket surge protector is excellent and fits into the outlet snug, not loose or hanging to fall off. Excellent product for a bit more money and worth the quality.
