Bad quality
I bought this October 2023 and it lasted me till July 2024. Not even a year. Beautiful kettle. Looked great and worked great too. Out of nowhere one day it started an issue. The kettle doesn’t turn off by itself anymore. If I do not manually turn it off all the water dries out. I am very as it was pricey at $40 and didn’t even last a year.
(Rewarded Review) Fantastic kettle!
This is a great little electric kettle. It has a really sleek look and because of it's slim gooseneck it does exceptionally well with precise pouring. It heats up very quickly as well. It is a smaller kettle but it is absolutely perfect for 2 or 3 people. I would definitely recommend this kettle. Really like it a lot.
(Rewarded Review) Rustic, Precise Pouring Kettle
This lightweight, rustic looking kettle has a unique look which I found very appealing. The black color matches most settings and the wood accents give it that rustic look. Kettle has a sleek smooth finish. The shut-off lever operates smoothly. Pouring water into a cup is so precise with no dripping because of its unique spout.
(Rewarded Review) Stylish Kettle
This Kettle is a stylish addition to any kitchen. The Kettle is metal with a plastic base. This Kettle does not have the ability to select different water temperatures to heat water to, only boiling. The plastic base does feel a bit cheap compared to the Kettle, so I gave this a 4 star rating.
Worked well and looked nice but leaked after few years...
Owned and used this a few times every week for a few years. Nothing intensive or out of ordinary scope of intended usage for product. But now leaks from spout connecting area and base. Looks nice, though! I still keep it in coffee bar as I use another sturdier kettle
(Rewarded Review) Beautiful small kettle
Bodum makes a beautiful, modern looking kettle. It boils water quickly and is easy to use. You just have to turn it on and wait for it to boil, it’ll shut off automatically, so if you forget it, no worries. The only drawback is that I would have liked an adjustable temperature so that you could stop it at 90 degrees, but other than that, it’s perfect for a couple cups of tea or hot chocolate.
(Rewarded Review) Awesome Kettle!
Perfect little kettle for a couple to have breakfast in the morning. Not only does it heat water quickly, it looks stylish as well. Quickly heats water and the gooseneck spout is perfect for pouring over coffee. The temperature gauge seems accurate and allows for different brewing temperatures for coffee and various teas. Love the black and wood combination which complements my grey color countertop. Stainless steel interior should allow for a long life.
Best ever
Best kettle ever for precise pouring. No more burns. Looks elegant, boils very fast, auto shut-off. Have used it every day for years and is still going strong. Does take up more room because of gooseneck, and has a smaller capacity of .8 litres but any larger is too much and a waste of time. This is perfect for 2, maybe 3 people.
Leaks from botton after less than a month of use
I bought this gooseneck kettle on black friday 2023 for pour over coffee. The control is great and it heats up quickly. However after daily use for less than a month it has started leaking from the bottom every time I use it. I've never filled it up to the max line and it still leaks before boiling and after. When tipped enough you also need to hold the cap down while pouring so it doesnt go flying off.
I've had it for 2 years!!
Take care of your kettle! With wear and tear of course it’s not going to be perfect but this one is great! Still two years later it was helped me through lots of water heating!! And no problems yet!!! I loved the black sleek design and no chips or erosion like some people say. Take care of your stuff! Simple. Be better! To conclude worth the price 10/10!!
Works fast!
I needed an electric kettle & had bad luck with some from Amazon so I decided just to spend a lil more on this Bodum one since I’m familiar with the brand. I’ve had it since feb of 2023 & it’s been working really well still! 👍 I use it for pour over coffees and teas. Heats up quick! And it doesn’t have a weird taste like the other electric kettles I’ve tried out.
Cute and affordable but not durable
It’s relatively affordable for a gooseneck electric kettle. It looks pretty good for the price . However after 2 years the paint is flaking on the lid and the cork details seem to be eroding. I don’t think the materials stand up to humidity/the test of time very well. Others complaints about over-filling it make it seem like a big problem, over-filling causes problems with all hot water kettles.
Elegant and very functional
The bodum gooseneck kettle has been key during our kitchen renovation. Functionality is excellent. Fairly quick. I mainly bought this particular kettle for the way it looks; however, it has proven itself. I look forward to using it for tea and French press for years to come. Incredibly easy to use. My children will be able to use this in the future as well.
Beautiful design, gets the job done for most folks
I bought this years ago because I wanted a kettle without plastic touching the hot water. This kettle is a good size for a normal sized coffee press. I don't mind the lack of adjustable temperature, because the lack of any real digital aspect of this product hopefully means there are fewer pieces to break. I recently bought one for my mother because I love it so much. The only downside I have seen is that the cork is already starting to wear after 2 years of daily use. I don't mind the weathered look but just know this won't stay pristine looking forever. I have not had the leak issues some others have commented about, but if I had, I would simply request a refund and get another one.
It is not leak!
For all those people blaming the "leak" of this product. I am also guilty for blaming it the defective until I noticed this. If you don't pour the water into the kettle carefully, it leaks. Ring the bell? You see the pipe sticking up in the middle of the kettle, and the top of it is open. It may have metal cover but it still shows the top open, right? ANY WATER GOES INTO THAT PIPE COMES OUT FROM THE BOTTOM AS WHAT YOU CALL "LEAK". Be careful when you pour the water to this kettle not to pour any water go into that pipe. Ta-da! No leak at all.
Beautiful, but leaks
I bought this kettle because I'm a sucker for the sleek black gooseneck designs, and it seemed like a steal for the price. Most of my other coffee/tea related appliances are Bodum (from my grinder to my French Press), so I was super surprised when by the third use, this guy was leaking. I had assumed it was because I had filled it incorrectly! But the next time I went to fill it- careful to do so away from the spouts inside the kettle- water came out of the bottom, and went literally everywhere. It's a shame, because this is one of my favorite brands and this is such a beautiful kettle. I tried with it twice- same deal each time. There are much better options for this price range.
Perfection
Greatest little kettle. If you use it as directed IT DOES NOT LEAK. If you’re sloppy and let water get under the tab (intended to protect the tube from water) - or fill it past the little tab (clearly marked “MAX”) then of course it leaks! It’s not rocket science folks! Mine came with all metal parts, no plastic as some have mentioned. Sounds like the manufacturer listened and improved based on feedback - impressive. The cork handles are the perfect touch (literally - as in they remain cool to the touch no matter how hot the water or kettle is.) My *only* suggestion would be to increase capacity just a tad. 27 oz is a weird number and does not match any of the coffee making devices I use - which requires me to do math early in the morning which is never a good idea and rarely ends well :)
10/10!
I’ve been waiting quite some time to write an honest review and can I just say this is one of the greatest kettles I’ve ever had! I’ve had it for almost a full year at this point, I make coffee every single day and I’ve used this kettle every time and it doesn’t disappoint. No signs of wear and tear or rust and have never had an issue with leaks. It heats up super quick, water comes out and stays hot for a while. The one down side is that it doesn’t hold a ton of water. Filling my 22oz travel mug in the morning when using instant coffee is no issue, but filling my french press takes more than a single full kettle. But since it heats up SO quick, I don’t really mind the size. It looks professional and sleek on my coffee cart. It does have a matte finish that occasionally gets a finger print or two but nothing unmanageable. Cork handle on the kettle and lid are sturdy. Goose neck spout allows you to control the water when pouring in a pour-over coffee maker. Cable is long enough and wraps nicely under the base. I would definitely recommend this kettle!
Good Little Kettle But Has Limitations
I bought this kettle while trying to find the right one for my household of four, and while it wasn't a good fit for them, I kept it for myself for my own use. For the record, I ended-up buying the Bodum Goose Neck 32oz Stainless Steel kettle for my family, and it's a much better fit with a better sturdier design. So here are the limitations of this kettle: 1. the handle and topper are cork, which can't be sanitized, so it's fine for personal use but might not be ideal for a whole household to share. 2. The pour mechanism really doesn't feel all that sturdy in the hand like the 34oz model and the feel of the pour isn't great. 3. The lid is metal-on-metal so it's a bit of a tug to get it off, which means careless/clumsy people might rip-off the cork topper by accident. 4. The kettle neck is narrow so it's a bit difficult to see the water level and difficult to clean the inside. 5. Twenty-seven ounces of water isn't actually all that much if you drink big volumes in one sitting. That said, I like this kettle enough to keep it for my own personal use, though I wouldn't buy it again. I recommend it but it has limitations. Btw, I read the reviews on here about leakage and have zero leakage issues.
Love This Kettle
I've been using this kettle for close to two weeks now and no issues. I use at least once a day, sometimes several times a day. It heats up my water in less than five minutes. I was hesitant to purchase seeing that many reviewers complained of leaking water, but I have not had that issue. There is a max fill line inside, as well as some kind of tube with a plastic end - I assume this is the heating element (didn't look at the instructions since it seemed pretty cut and dry how to use it); I just make sure that I do not fill over the max-fill line/indicator nor get any water down into the heating element tube thing. I have been using glass kettles for the past ten years, this little electric kettle is such a step-up. It also looks very modern and the goose neck spout allows your pour to be smooth and exact. I have not washed it at all yet, and time will tell how the cork and the outside coating hold up. Overall, great buy.
