Oil stained rug. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - do not buy from rugs direct

DO NOT BUY FROM RUGS DIRECT!!! The packaging for the 15 foot x 12 foot rug we got delivered was covered with oil/grease/dirt. Not wanting this to ruin my new flooring or my clothes I removed it right away and put it in a trash bag, like any normal person would do. Turns out there were multiple areas the plastic wrap was compromised leaving multiple areas of the rug stained black. I contacted rugs direct right away, within the hour it was delivered. They told me they’d reach out in a few days to talk about the next steps. No one ever told me to save the plastic wrap. Well now their customer service manager, Diane, refuses to even start a claim on this $1400 rug because I didn’t save the plastic wrap. I have sent her multiple pictures with time stamps on them, yet she refuses to even start the claim. Why would I ruin an extremely expensive rug I’ve been wanting to purchase for months and waited weeks for it to be delivered? Their customer service department does not exist. I am so disgusted with how they haven’t handled this. It took her nearly 2 weeks to respond to me and like I mentioned she said with the plastic wrap she couldn’t do anything for me. Find me one person who is going to keep grease covered plastic wrap from an oversized rug around in their brand new home/garage. It was gone in the trash the next day when the garbage man came. And no one in their customer service department the first day I called even mentioned saving it or taking pictures of it. Now I’m going to have to pay a professional carpet cleaner to come out to my rural property to try to get the oil stains out at a cost of $150-300 just for the cleaning, that’s not even including the cost of travel out here to me. I will never recommend rugs direct to anyone, if I could leave no stars I would.
