This is my 2nd Broan vent hood. My 1st was top of the line. This one is a step down. It was less expensive but it has less features. The lights in the 1st one were better. That being said, for the price, this is a good value.

Easy installation and good instructions. Fan capacity seems good and 2-level LED lighting is excellent. Mine did come with a small pinpoint dent in the stainless steel, and on one of the filters the mesh was not properly inserted into the frame. I was able to stick it back in place with a knife.

Great value, easy 1 person install

This is definitely a good value. The one person installation was simple, the fitment was correct, and the operation is smooth and quiet. Word to the wise the buttons on this for the fan and light are capacitive they don't need to be pushed you just touch your finger to the button.

I really love my new range hood! It arrived in perfect condition and is shiny and sleek. The lights are clear and bright and the fan is pretty quiet on all speeds. I had a handyman install it and only heard a few low mutterings to himself while installing it, but basically an uneventful installation that was vented through an existing roof vent. This hood is hardwired and was my preference because my old hood was also hardwired and I didn't want the additional expense to have an outlet installed. Broan has been around for a very long time and if I should ever need service or parts, it would not be problematic to obtain. My only wish would be that it had a "night light" like the old ones of days gone by.

Wonderful vent hood in black stainless

This hood is great! Installation was straightforward, and the instructions were clear and helpful. The shade of black stainless matches our other black stainless appliances from other manufacturers; this was a concern earlier because not everyone has similar shades of colors, but this matches with LG color very nicely. We like the simple light and fan controls too.

Purchased this outside vented unit to replace an old non-vented unit and it works perfectly. I wish we had done this 10 years ago. The first unit I purchased had a dent from shipping, so had to return and rebuy….so be aware that although they do their best to package adequately you might be delayed if there is a return. The unto fit my space and the installers were familiar with getting it ducted to the outside. The lights are bright and are a warmer style (which we like)…not the daylight style. The 3 fan speed options cover our needs. Overall very pleased with this model.

We replaced a microwave oven that had a vent built in. Needless to say that microwave vent just didn't work very well even though we have the duct work to vent outside. *First thing, be sure to buy a separate wire harness if you plugging this into the wall...it does not come with one* Install: I installed this by myself. It was not difficult at all using the brackets that came with the unit. The brackets screw into the shelf (see photo) and allow you to hang the unit on the brackets. Then you are able to screw a total four screws into the brackets (2 on each side) to safely secure the unit. Once installed you can then route the ducting to it and plug it in. Looks: The unit looks great. The black stainless steel matches our refrigerator and microwave...doesn't look out of place with the black/stainless stove. The fan: The suction power is very strong and works very well. Note, there are 3 levels for the fan and the 3rd level is the loudest. I would recommend the second level for standard cooking. The lights: The LED lights are very bright (in a good way). There are 2 levels for the lights, the 2nd is probably brighter than you'll ever need but I'm not complaining. Overall this is a great value for the money. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. *Don't forget to buy a wire harness if you plan to plug this unit into a wall socket*

I got this sight unseen other than the pics and vids I have seen on the internet. I go the 36in version. This hood works well. It is simple. Only a few buttons. This thing has two fans inside with a ton of suction to pull all the fumes from your stove top. We got the stainless version. Installation was okay. It had a few problems but that was more due to the place it was being installed instead of the unit itself. I hired someone to install it as it would have turned into a very long and stressful install I had did it. It did require two people at one point just to hold it up while it was being mounted. Other than that, all the parts were there to do the install. It doesn't have a power cord. It is expected to be tied directly into your power. But you can attach a cord if needed.

EXCELLENT range hood!

We have been using our Broan stainless steel Glacier Deluxe 36" range hood for a year and a half. We are THOROUGHLY pleased with it... the look is great and easy to keep clean, the touch controls have worked easily and have not given a bit of trouble to us; the lighting is very good, and the fan is quiet on the lower setting which does the job most of the time. The higher settings are a bit louder, but do a fantastic job when we need them to pull smoke or fumes out of our kitchen. We know that at some point we are going to have to pay a technician to come replace the lights because evidently that is not something we can do on our own, but that seems to be the only drawback to this hood.

A key feature of this hood was its highly rated LED lighting - and I love it! It also came in black stainless, which is still fairly rare, and I like its sleek design. First of all, this product was a huge pain to install. It came with some "EZ install" brackets, which I suppose would work in the right environment, but I just could not get them to work. The unit was light and easy to lift, but I needed a third arm to install it properly. However, while lifting it, someone else couldn't get around underneath me to drill holes or insert screws. Project took me over two hours of trial and error before I was finally able to get the thing balanced on my shoulder and head enough to get the first screw started. Then it wasn't so bad from there. I do like the look of the unit as it matches my stainless stove. Previously I had a very old microwave from 1986 that came with the house. Debated replacing with another microwave, but decided to get a vent hood instead. I was very happy it fit the space and looks good once installed. The price of this hood was also very nice. It's one of those inexpensive items that looks expensive. The hood itself is very cheaply made, thin metal, sharp edges, and it did not come with an electrical plug or light bulbs. I had to do my own wiring, which was simple, but still was expecting a normal plug to come with the unit as I already had an outlet available from the microwave. The light bulbs required are also not normal screw in light bulbs, so I have to go and find those at an extra cost. The fan is made out of plastic and the mesh vent covers are very thin and see-through, not sure how well they will filter. But the fan is quiet on low setting, which is good.

The Broan NuTone Glacier 36" hood is really good. The directions for installation were very good, and should only take a hour to install. Appearance is nice and we like the large filters. I would give this 5 stars except the high speed fan is louder than i hoped, but truly much quieter than the hood i replaced. The buttons are finicky, I still am not sure if they are pressure operated or touchscreen type operated. Anyway, i would definitely recommend this range hood.

I tried many different brands of range hoods and had to return them - the most popular brands like WINFLO and COSMO. They either had cheap thin stainless steel that dented easily, or you could not get their charcoal filters because of their manufacturers. This hood works as advertised, the let lights are great and the fan is not too loud (three speeds). A nice product as advertised. The stainless steel is great and nice looking.

We purchased this item for my parents home who had a 36 inch hood. The delivery was fine and there was no damage to the hood. The opening at the top requires a 7" collar and a 6 inch duct. the hood is hard wired and it does not come with a romex ring or wire nuts. You must have basic knowledge of wiring and installation. The CFMs are true and the fan really work to remove odors. It is too early to tell if it will last a while or how it will hold up. it looks really nice for now. The install was done by my hubby who is an awesome electrician. The hood was attached to the undercabinet and not the wall as the wall has a backsplash. The hood is light and not too heavy. The LED's are nicely sealed, and the filters cover the whole underbody of the vent
