Do Not Buy
When the smoker arrived, there were no latches on the doors. I question quality control when the shelves and the parts for the stand are shipped inside the smoker. The doors were installed on the unit, but no one noticed that latches were not installed to keep the doors shut. Broil King did ship latches out for me to install. As with many other reviews saying about not being able to get a low temperature for smoking, my smoker is no different. It will not go below 325deg at the lowest setting. I called Broil King customer service twice and was told that the smoker is designed to only go down to 300deg on its lowest setting, even though the manual that comes with the smoker states on page 8 “For best results try to maintain a temperature of 200deg to 300deg” which this smoker is not capable of doing. I emailed Broil King several times trying to get recommendations on how get a lower temp and did not get a single response. Now I am stuck with a so-called smoker that is useless for smoking meats. I do not recommend buying and wasting money on this smoker; look for a different brand.
I would definitely buy this vertical NG smoker again
We really like this smoker. Easy to set-up and easy to use. I only wish the bottom vents were adjustables; however, I assume they are not because I have the natural gas unit. Low maintenance and it burns about 1 cup of wood per hour and the water needs filling after about 2 hours. Temperature has been relaticely easy to control.

I’ve had this smoker since 2015 and love it! It was easy to assemble and operate. It makes smoking easy, and does an excellent job with anything we’ve tried. And I’ve had a lot of fun trying different recipes. Great way to spend a summer day…low and slow!

Ok, so after using this smoker for a little over a year now, I feel I can give an helpful review.
It's ok. It does what It is designed to do. I got this one to replace my 18inch weber Smokey mountain smoker. Thinking the extra size and the convenience of the cabinet design door access would make it easier to change/stoke the coals and tend to the meat. And it does! Its EXTREMELY well made with double wall construction and a lot of well thought out features. It does not produce the flavor I have come to love about my old weber smokers. UPDATE: after a year of smoking it has become well seasoned and produces an abundance of flavor. It has become my "go to" smoker.
although I have yet to use this smoker, I assembled it easily. I believe it will be a smart decision on the purchase. Cannot wait to try it when the weather gets better
1st smoker I’m hooked
Took a chance on redeeming points from work’s safety program and picked this smoker. Only thing I’d encourage after choosing this is a thermometer, one that uses a probe so you can keep the box closed. I’m smoking in -20C temps or colder less you need to look the better.

I have used this once and it worked well. Did a 9 lb. brisket and it took 10 hours. Had to play with the temperature and vents for awhile to get it right. It started out hot and I worked it down to 200-230 then messed with the vent. then it maintained the temp that I wanted. Plenty big enough to do multiple meats at the same time. I like the separate door for the chips and liquid. It even came with the outdoor cover!

Easy to follow instructions. We had great success the first time. Little internet research on controlling temperature and following the instruction manual.
Great, but...
I just completed my third smoke in the first week of ownership. Food and and function are fantastic! Look is amazing! However, I am noticing some repeating issues here and in these reviews. Liquid leaks from the legs AND the upper/lower vents, (how?) have stained my composite deck!! Also, the juice/water tray does dry out quickly, hard to clean with all that gets caked on! Can you help with this?
Ease of use
Just got my new Broil King Smoke, and absolutely love it. Very easy to remove and replace shelves as needed. The Turkey rack is fabulous. Racks were easy to clean, and just love the rate of smoke I am getting. So far have cooked lots of different foods, and not once have I been disappointed.

Broil King Vertical Smoker.
Good smoker, but a little hard to keep the temperature below 200C, if you want to cold smoke anything. Lots of space inside to film the racks with ribs and chicken. It would be nice if it came with more hooks for hanging jerky though. Also bought the cover, but it keeps coming apart at the seams, so I've had to sew it a couple of times.
AWESOME SMOKER
The only reason I'm given this a 4 is cause of the service I've gotten from Lowe. The smoker is awesome but the 2nd time I used it the temp gauge broke and all I've from Lowe in Hot Springs, AR is the run around. I'm done with Lowe.
Poor Design
I smoked my first beef brisket on it and it came out perfect. I walked away after pulling the meat out, and 5 minutes later the meat door had a 6 foot flame roaring from it. My thermometer was pegged out and I lost paint on the exterior so now it’s going to rust. There should’ve been better instructions.
A quality made product
Well made smoker. The heat is easily controlled although the thermometer on the door is not very accurate. I would recommend a dual Probe digital thermometer be used - one probe inserted into the meat and the other probe sitting on a rack to monitor the actual temperature in the smoker. I'm very satisfied with the smoker and the smoked meat is a big hit with all the family members and friends.
