[Rewarded Review] A good grill, but not completely correct assembly

This Traeger grill is great! However, it took several days to connect to our 2.4Ghz WiFi In addition, it took several days for initial burn in. After a call to Traeger to assist, they shared my phone screen and had me disassemble all of the top to be able to see the auger for pellets.what a surprise to see the insert screen that should be over the right hole and auger instead was over the fat drip hole. They suggested (1) I vacuum out all the ashes, move the drop in trap to the right side and try again. Finally worked.! We purchased from Best Buy because they offered assembly. If you ever decide to purchase one, watch to see all assembly steps, just to be safe.

Expensive, but packed with features. The LED screen is great as well as the wifi connection and bluetooth.

I have had the grill since August, it was great until last week. Typical heat up cycle was 10-25 minutes for any temperature I set it on. It’s not heating up to the desired temperature, takes 40+ mins to heat up to 300 degrees when set to 350 degrees. For a product with the price tag you would think they’d try and come up with a resolution, especially after multiple hours on the phone troubleshooting. I am not a satisfied customer.

We upgraded

We love our Träger. This is our second one now. An upgrade from our last one and loving it. It cooks so evenly and fast, leaving such a beautiful warm overall browning to our food.

I wish I had kept my Pro 22 instead

I bought this grill after using the Fremont (costco pro 22) for 2 years with incredible success. My only complaints about that grill were that it was a pain to clean and had no Wifi.

I try to smoke as much as possible

Overall - Yes. Convenient, well built, quality, and expensive. I know feel I have the best of both worlds between my weber kettle and traeger ironwood.

Significant upgrade from my Traeger Pro 575

Bought the Ironwood XL to replace my Traeger Pro 575 which I bought in 2019 had rusted through. Everything about it is impressive - quality of materials seems to be a significant upgrade. Assembly was pretty straightforward (the video is definitely more helpful than the assembly instructions that came with it) and took about 1.5 to 2 hours (mostly because I just took my time). Grilled some steaks tonight (first-time use), and the smoke flavor was a night-and-day difference from the Pro 575 - so much better. Can’t wait to smoke some brisket and pulled pork later this month.

Lemon Grill, customer support refuses to service

Grill leaks out the back just after a couple cooks. I’ve followed customer service instructions and they keep saying to do more things and that it’s our fault for not keeping it clean. I’ve shown them the grease builds up along the areas it is supposed to ventilate out in the hood but they instead sent a new drip pan which didn’t solve anything. Igniter also went out within first year which I had to replace. Overall, we have been told by Costco and Ace hardware employees it’s not normal and even the customer service said it wasn’t normal but they fall back on ‘it’s your fault for not cleaning it’ meanwhile Ace and Costco reps say it needs to be serviced.

Struggles to get to temperature

The smoker often struggles to warm up to the set temperature, even at lower temps such as 250. It is inconsistent, sometimes heating up well and other times not. Since this is the most basic function of a smoker, it’s hard to give it a good review. However, it looks great and has a nice touch screen.

Extremely Disappointing

Just purchased the ironwood,it 3 hours of my time to put together, went and purchased all available accessories and took a vacation day to cook on it. Went to do the hour seasoning, it never got up to 500 degrees so the oil on the drip tray never burned off. Cleaned the oil off and went to fire it up to cook but it wouldn’t preheat to 180 degrees, tried to set the temp to 350 but it won’t go over 163 degrees. I spent a lot of time and money only to be really disappointed. The customer service is great but they want me to take apart the grill to fix it. I just want to get my money back. It was a big waste of my time, money and vacation time. The product is to sensitive with all the electronic devices in it can’t see it last very long

It does it all!

This grill is awesome! We cook EVERYTHING on it and I can just set it and leave it. Huge life quality improvement, coming from a lifetime charcoal griller. The flavor is incredible.

The perfect family backyard smoker. Makes you feel like a professional from the first time you turn it on. I’ve smoked every type of meat without issue so far using the probes and meater probe.

I don’t know why I didn’t get it before. The pellets gives different flavors in addition to the rubs.

Dont buy this grill unless you want constant disappointment. Inconsistent cooking and Wi-Fi has to be reset each and every time . I’ve had great luck with Traeger in the past but this model is a flop
